You lot are pathetic. I hope Nadal wins because he's awesome, but not wanting Murray to win because he's Scottish is sad.
And don't come back and give it 'i just don't like the way he plays tennis'. You just can't take his wind-ups. You're probably the sort of people who calls a sportsman 'racialist' when they day they don't like England.
Wont be watching it, dont have the slightest bit of interest in it, but hope he gets stuffed.
Was watching the sports news man on GMTV this morning reporting live from Wimbledon that people have been reportedly queuing for 24 hours, just for a prime position on Murray Mound/Mount Murray (also previously known as Henman Hill, Rusedki Rise, Bates Boulder etc etc) and I have one thing to ask. Why? You queue for 24 hours to watch it on a big screen and pay for the priviledge? I'm sorry but I just dont see the point.
I wanted Federer to win but now he's out I'll be backing Murray, although I will only be watching it between the WC games. I don't particularly like Murray but nothing to do with him being Scotttish, I didn't like Henman either.
[cite]Posted By: Billericay Dickie[/cite]Andy Murray said he'd support "anyone but England" at the 2006 World Cup.
Since that statement I watch his games but I always root for whoever his opponent is. I cannot stand the bloke a complete Wank*r
That was a joke he had with Tim Henman. Get over it.
You get over it. if he doesnt want to support him because of that comment its his right. Sat next to enough Scots in my time to listen to their "anyone but England" chants during the world cup to know that it probably wasnt that big of a joke. Saw him straining last weekw hen asked about England v Germany.

I'll be rooting for Murray, best chance at winning wimbledon as federer is not in it
I dont care enough to hate the scots, if they hate us i honestly couldn't care i'll follow any brit as they are closer to home
I actually quite like Murray and he did say prior to this world cup he did actually say he wouldn't be rooting for england or who they are playing so doesn't really mean he hates us
That was a joke he had with Tim Henman. Get over it.. quote WSS
Did not seem like a 'joke' at the time in the press conference...... ''Don't tell me he was misquoted'... on tv, what he meant to say was... Regardless of what 'revisionist pr' he has been persuaded to enrobe himself in, the guy regards himself as Scottish, fair enough...... Oh and by the way I was at the 5 live interview, at BBC TVC in London, with his mother and a PR adviser, I declined to take his photograph, made an excuse and left....... So I will be supporting Nadal, just a personnal thing! .......
Just to recap....... Murray identifies himself primarily as "Scottish, but also British".[123][124] Prior to Wimbledon 2006, Murray caused some public debate[125] when he was quoted as saying he would "support anyone but England" at the 2006 World Cup. He received large amounts of hate mail on his website as a result.[126] It was also reported (incorrectly, it turned out) that Murray had worn a Paraguay shirt on the day of England's World Cup match with the South American team.[125] Murray explained that his comments were said in jest during a light-hearted interview with sports columnist Des Kelly,[127] who asked him if he would be supporting Scotland in the World Cup, in the knowledge that Scotland had failed to qualify for the tournament.[128] Kelly stated another tabloid had later "lifted a couple of [the comments] into a 'story' that took on a life of its own and from there the truth was lost" and that he despaired over the "nonsensical criticism".[129] Murray protested that he is "not anti-English and never was"[123] and he expressed disappointment over England's subsequent elimination by Portugal.[130] In an interview with Nicky Campbell on BBC Radio 5 Live, Tim Henman confirmed that the remarks had been made in jest and were only in response to Murray being teased by Kelly[127] and Henman.[131] He also stated that the rumour that Murray had worn a Paraguay shirt was untrue.[131] In an interview with Gabby Logan for the BBC's Inside Sport programme, Murray said that he was both Scottish and British and was comfortable and happy with his British identity.[132] He said he saw no conflict between the two and was equally proud of them. He has also pointed out that he is quarter English with some of his family originating from Newcastle, his coach is Scottish and that his girlfriend, Kim Sears, is English.[133] Murray was often seen donning wristbands bearing the insignia of the flag of Scotland in his early career. However, this has since ceased.[134

Any success for British players at Wimbledon will filter down and get more kids playing the game and could, in turn, give us more future success too

We tend to worry more about the Welsh. I generally wish England all the best during their short stays in football tournaments.

They have to celebrate something!
