Jon Fortune played a big part in Stoke's promotion a couple of seasons ago. If we could sign him, that would be a real coup. I do seem to remember him being excellent against the likes of Shearer, and worse against poorer strikers. Hopefully that's no longer the case if we do end up signing him!

    Keep the updates coming!

So you were at Selhurst in 1990? I think that was when the legend Kenny Achampong played for us...

    Battery dying
    Finished 1-0
Little black fella up front looked useful
Tuna v poor and missed a good chance at the death
    Sawyer not up to much
    Semedo rock solid
Left wing (davisson maybe?) loves the ball at his feet. Like the look of him for the future
    Fortune looked assured
Basey looks to be carrying a bit of timber

    Basey is carrying a bit

Fortune hasn't played for a couple of years has he ? If he got through a game he needs signing.

Fortune will just be training with his local team to keep fit surely? Far too good for League One, especially considering what we'd offer him.

i think the fact that fortune played for us in a friendly means that it was more trial then just training with us.

i`m sure i read last year that because of his injury he was training with Shef Utd no contract and paying for his hotel etc etc in an attempt to get a contract with them. He may well except a short term contract with us to get fit and put him in the window for a better deal.

    Better than Saturday.
    I thought Basey looked good.
Bauza again looked lively and I would offer him a deal now.
    Doc and JJ were untroubled.
Estajas looked ok and have a feeling he may get a deal.
    Sawyer I'd pass on.
Glad to see Semedo come on as his initial absence worried me!
  • Did the Czech bloke get a game?

The Swansea bloke and the Sheff Wed bloke both look useful.

2nd half our 21 looked okay don't know his name though.

The player with the blue boots was hopeless, who is he?

Sawyer was pretty ineffective on Saturday aswell, will be disappointed if he gets a deal now.

Good news about Bauza, hope to see him tied up soon.

Was it not 35 minutes before we had a shot on target. then straight at the keeper!. The headers were well wide, not on target.....
Solly and Waggy were the Charlton players of the first half, they linked up very well and the cross was exceptional.

Some good pass and movement, could and should have been more than 1-0 up at half time to be fair.

Thought that Welling looked good in defence especially Parkinson.

Second half. Hate to say it but I thought Tuna had the worst game I have seen him play in a Charlton shirt. He is an 'in the hole player' not a centre forward. Well not on this performance anyway.

A neat flick on was really all he produced all night. Basey needs to do more training for his fitness!, fair enough he has been out for a time.!
Would have been good to have seen how our defence coped under pressure, but Welling seemed to run out of steam the second half!

    young black clap?

if it was, then it was James Mulley - played right back against wimbledon, played in midfield tonight.

Getting excited now after that............If we get one (or both) of Fortune & Dailly then we will have a formible set of centre halves as Doherty looked class

Buaza & Esjasas looked good too

    Sodje looked mobile

    Jackon at LB looked comfortable

Solly & Wagstaff look like they have an understanding - some great crosses from Solly and same for Basey in 2nd half

McCormack was disappointing - Bailey without the shots.

    7/10 - just need some strikers !!

Must be him, thought he did well, got forward a few times and nearly scored. Worth another look.

I'll take Bouza. Surprised by how well Solly and Wagstaff linked up together. Davisson (?) caught my eye as well. Parky said Richardson had dislocated his shoulder in the Swiss training camp, I'm sure Parky tried to look sympathetic, but he didn't succeed, more than a hint of a wicked grin there. The departure had come as a very sudden and unwelcome surprise to everyone. Enjoyed this evening and it was good to see some exuberance and spirit. Warm welcome for Jon Fortune and Grant Basey. It'll be good to get back to the Valley.
