Maybe its my heart over head but I would definitely buy charlton's points there, a couple more signings (which should be coming, as we know) and that could look like a bargain.

I'd buy Southampton, last year they got 73 (which was 83 without their deduction) even after a horrible start. With a better squad and in what i think is a weaker league this season, i think they'll get well over 90 points.

    Nope...

Last year the spread offered on us was 68 -70 so this year they are offering us at one and a half points more than the start last year. I don't quite see the logic in that.

16-1? Where did you find that, fancy a few quid on that myself. The best I can find is 9/2.

Spreadbetting is a form of trading exempt from most tax as it is effectively gambling.

A company or 'market maker' will provide a market for a commodity, be it oil, grain, a company's share price or charlton's final points in league 1. There is a buy and sell price for this commodity, the marketmaker will set the buy price slightly higher and sell price slightly lower than what they believe the actual price to be, the amount of this difference is known as the "spread", more liquid(or uncertain) stocks will have a higher spread.

In the case of league1 above:

    Swindon Points SELL 71 - 73 BUY

What this is saying is the company offering this believes that Swindon are most likely to achieve 72 points this year.

If I believe the outcome to be different, I have the option of taking a position, either 'go long' and BUY at 73 or 'go short' and SELL at 71. I would then need to decide how much I wish to stake per point and make the trade.

    If I believe Swindon won't do as well this season I might wish to SELL at 71 staking £10 per point. If I am right and Swindon go on to finish with say 65points;

    71-65 = 6points below my position.
    6 * stake of £10 = £60 gain.

However, If Swindon were to finish with 80 points.
    80-71 = 9points above my position = £90 loss.

In the case of financial spread betting share price's etc the price (and derived spread) is constantly fluctuating and with currencies this fluctuation is extreme (known as a volatile market) this means that you can stand to make or lose many times more than your original staked investment in a short space of time.

You will need to have some capital in your account in order to cover a certain percentage/margin of your exposure when taking a position, the more volatile or risky an asset is perceived, the more this capital or "margin" will be. If you move into a negative position, you may be asked to add more capital (known as a "margin call") or risk your position being forcibly closed at a loss.

28 points from 16 games - an average of 1.75 points per game. Over 46 games this would give us 80.5.
This doesnt take account that we have played 9 away and 7 at home. Neither does it take into account there is only 2 of top 15 we havent played yet - Colchester and Southampton. Whereas of the bottom 9 there are 5 we havent played ( Yeovil, Bristol rovers, rochdale, Hpool and Walsall).
Every reason to think we should get more than 74.
Unfortunately I expect Brighton, South and Hudds will as well
So PBoro away in the play offs?

If we win (IF) our next two games we would be 2 points behind where we were after 18 games last season (yet still in the same position).
