  • Appeal costs money and would undoubtedly prove fruitless. Cant see it happening.

Think there are criteria for any appeal. If you dont meet them it gets chucked out as "frivilous" and 3 game ban becomes 4.

He'll miss Shrewsbury, Orient and Oldham. We should be able to cope.
  • It wasn't a foul, let alone a red card.

booking at worst, but suspect we'll leave it. Might be different if Racon wasn't fit!

I said this on the other thread, I was shocked when the ref gave a freekick, the red card was just ridiculous.
  • I knew he got the ball first, thought perhaps he'd gone over the top with studs showing. Having seen TV replay I'm not even convinced it was a foul.

Wasn't there and all I have to go by is the highlight on the tele, but if a bournemouth player put in a tackle like that on one of ours I'd expect him to go. Looked pretty wreckless. Maybe will have a different opinion when I see it on player

When you watch it again a Bournemouth player runs across the front of the ref just as the tackle is made. He must have guessed the impact and only gone on the fact that he rolls around on the floor until the red card is shown. On the sideline he is then congratulated by the Bournemouth management team before running back on with no ill effects. Not even sure it was a foul

When we were a premiership club Sankofa got an extra game's ban because our appeal was deemed frivolous. To the best of my knowledge that has happened to no other Premiership club!

Different, stricter rules apply to the likes of "lil ol Charlton" from "proper" big clubs so, given that one of the matches is only a league cup game which is a competition of little or no interest to Charlton traditionally, it may be wise to swallow the ban galling as it is. We emphatically do not want it increased so he misses more than 2 league games!!

It is a shame that obtaining justice is discouraged but that is the society in which we live sadly.

it happened to rio ferdinard last season, extra game ban for that elbow

  • It looked a dumb challenge to me - seen worse go unpunished, but I wouldn't bother appealling in case it gets seen as "frivolous".

Here lies the problem with the appeal system, it is clearly a challenge which should be appealed and could be overturned. However on the other hand, there seems to be more chance that it will either be rejected or worse deemed frivilous and we lose our best player for 4 games.

    I trust Parky's judgement anyway.

Parky's comments after the game indicates that he'd like to appeal it , but that an appeal costs money and will have to chat to RM first.

I've watched the TV highlights and at best its a yellow card............certainly not a red. If tackles like that are deemed red then after 60 mins we'll be watching 5-a-side games !!

How much does an appeal cost? A booking only costs about £10, the same as Sunday league.
