Given that Richard Murray's MBO is a done deal bar the shouting what will the implications be for fans wielding (or not wielding) influence?

Have we missed the boat as the PLC will be no more or could it be easier for fans to come on board as a trust or whatever as only dealing with one man?

What if there finally is an external takeover?

Discuss in the word of Nolly...

  • Surely by the very implication it is entirely up to one man.

The moment has passed i believe for any sort of cohesive fan involvement Len. IMO the opportunity was partially there in the forming of the Fans Forum, but then a massive opportunity was wasted on the failed attempt of the Supporters Trust. The simple truth is the latter just didn't attract enough interest from individuals that were able to take things forward.

For a cohesive group to successfully emerge, you need people who are not just enthusiastic, but are "do-ers", hold a certain amount of gravitas, command the general respect as individuals from a percentage of the wider fanbase, and have a plan and set of objectives that the majority of the fanbase can realistically support. Not enough of these aspects were present sadly.

Real shame, but any group will only ever be as good as the people willing to put themselves forward (no disrespect to those that tentatively did).

    too late, too late alas.

The time was last summer if not in fact much earlier.

So much easier to snipe from behind a keyboard than to act yourself and too many of us took that easy option

Ricky has only ever wanted one thing, complete control...

Now he's got it he's not going to let an annoying group of supporters distract him from the greater plan...
