Sodje -5.5- didnt have time to do anything so give him a neutral rating of 5.5
back down to Earth with a pretty lacklustre performance. we werent terrible or anything, but we didnt really look particularly like winning, in fact Oldham had a couple of chances to win it (although i think that would have been more than they deserved)
Elliot - 8 MOTM Good saves, good anticipation, good distribution that was aimed at and reached Abbott
Francis - 5 some good headers but some sloppy passes when not under pressure. Didn't link up well with Wagstaff
Llera - 6 Up against their two quality front men he struggled sometimes but stuck to it
Doherty - 6.5 better than at Orient. Kicked clearances better but we missed Dailly's calm and distribution. Unfortunate that his clearance fell to their player for their goal.
Jackson - 7 Defended well, they didn't get much down his side and he made a game saving clearance and tackle.
Wagstaff - 7 Good, well taken goal coming in off the flank to anticipate a cross. Also set up Reid well early on. Usual hard work but little penetration.
Racon - 5.5 Getting more and more frustrated with his lack of impact. The sooner Fry or Youga can release Jackson to play in this slot the better
McCormack - 7 Another hard working game. Maybe could have closed down the goal scorer quicker but the whole team struggled to cope with Oldham's good movement and passing
Reid - 6.5 started off well but was cut off from the ball by good defending.
Martin - 6 Still unsure about him. Clearly has skill and works hard but yet to see him apply that consistantly or link up with the other forwards. He needs time and games though like Francis.
Abbott - 6.5 Worked hard, was constantly fouled and was too isolated. When he did get the ball under control he did well and was instrumental in our goal but he is slow and needs help from others. Missed a decent chance in the box that other strikers would have been boo'd for ie Mooney and Sodje
Sodje - 6.5 not real time to impress but won some headers and used his strength.
Oldham - Good team, good passing, the big 36 was class and they gave us lots of problems. Annoying fouling and shirt pulling esp. on Abbott that was allowed to carry on.
Don't think we were much worse that the other two league games but with 10 men and at home fans expect to see the team take the game to the oppo and we didn't do enough of that after the first 30 mins.
Dilemma for Parky IMHO is that we need Jackson in the middle but hard to drop Macca or Semedo.
At the point now where I wouldn't be sad to see Racon move on and I've always been a fan.
Still three game in , unbeaten, coped (just) with suspensions and injuries and are scoring goals. Still need those two players up front and if Fortune is any where close to being fit and the player he was I'd sign him up.
