do goalkeepers get free choice on what kit they wear, providing it doesn't clash or isn't similar to their outfield team mates or opponents?

I think so, when I was a kid, keepers were only allowed to wear green, white or blue jerseys. Internationals were allowed to wear yellow, but now they seem to be able to wear anything they like and even multi coloured. There used to be a law that keepers had to have full length sleeves and were not allowed to roll them up, but this has never been enforced and I assume that is now repelled

The choices are made in this order:

    1. Home team, outfield players
    2. Away team, outfield players
    3. Referee and assistants
    4. Away team, goalkeeper
    5. Home team, goalkeeper
  • thanks for your feedback. so does that go someway to explaining elliots choice, least likely to clash with anyone?
  • surely Elliott didn't actually choose to wear that pink thing !!!!!!!!!!

I like the pink, and I really like the new England one, black with lilac trim
