When my son was very young he thought all bears were like 'Gentle Ben', all cuddly and friendly, then he saw them at the zoo one day at feeding time! Another childhood belief wrecked.
Pigeon Street
Fraggles - I look like a doozer with a hard hat on
Playschool
Most of my revision leave was spent watching teletubbies followed by the 97 Ashes series, I decided than that ever being a student was not for me!
Transformers
He-man
Thomas the tank engine
Fingermouse
Postman Pat
Thunderbirds, Joe 90, The Demon Headmaster, Grange Hill, Stingray, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. Live and Kicking, SMTV Live, Playdays, Arthur (cartoon aardvark thing)
Grange Hill seemed impossibly exciting to me. The Tomorrow People seemed quite spooky.
The Young Ones too was water cooler TV before we had water coolers or even any understanding of a need of them. Not really for kids and written by a bellend, but it was something you'd never seen before.
I'm there with Robinson Crusoe. It seemed to be on every day in the Summer holidays for years. The theme tune was great, humming it now.
How about Ace Of Wands? Also good theme tune.
Most of Gerry Anderson stuff was awesome. Stingray just about shades Thunderbirds. "Anything can happen in the next half hour!" "What are we gonna do, Troy, what are we gonna do?"
Comments
