Dead Mans Shoes - Anything with Bonnie "Prince" Billy is a winner for me. Pulp Fiction - Love the Overkill track 24 Hour Party People - Happy Mondays, Joy Division, Buzzcocks, Pistols, New Order, 808 State etc etc DIG - Music documentary film so bit of a cheat really Trainspotting
Thankyou Leroy Ambrose: Lady in the Water is my favourite soundtrack and a very good film too! The build up to the climax has the hairs standing up on the back of my neck every time. James Newton Howard one of the best! Followed by: Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (which I'm going to see played live in the Opera House next year) A Beautiful Mind Transformers (particularly the main theme)
There was an episode of Cold Case that had only Bruce Springsteen songs in it, that was pretty good too.
[cite]Posted By: Lost Red[/cite]Anyone seen the The Cooler? the opening and closing track especially is amazing, Mark Isham i think.
I have - you're right, it is a great soundtrack. I prefer Romeo Is Bleeding though - now that is a work of beauty - a brilliant film, brilliantly acted and the soundtrack is perfect
It seems hard to believe that, Getta Bloomin' Move On! (Self Preservation Society), was written by Quincey Jones. Coincidentally, Quincy was born on the same day as Michael Caine.
1. The Good, The Bad And The Ugly - probably the finest achievement in filmmaking let alone the soundtrack 2. 2001: A space oddessy - unconventional but the fact there's ALWAYS some noise going on, whether that's Dave's breathing or the booping of his space pod to the epic jump cut. 3. Pulp Fiction - Tarantino can pick a soundtrack
I'll also nominate 2 non film soundtracks:
Red dead redemption - nothing will beat the goosebumps i got wandering into the mexican desert whilst jose gonzales' guitar danced hauntingly through the speakers of my tv
The Sopranos - some incredible choices, i believe its season 6 episode 3 at the very end with mr finnity looking out of that hotel window towards that lighthouse this moby song plays. Incredibly emotional. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2Ke2Hmkpdc
