    I remember watching and loving his films on television as a yong boy. The problem was that they got harder to watch as you got older. His character changed from being funny to annoying. Having said that he was a legend -just of his time which is no bad thing. Charlie Chaplin hardly has you in stitches but that doesn't detract from his talent.

    The man was way ahead of his time. Didn't really find comedians of that era funny but he was the exception and not a single swear word was ever required. Even watching Freddie Starr taking him off used to crack me up!
