Good result to get the Brentford performance out of the system.

The fact that we don't seem to be able to perform for the full 90 minutes is still a concern, however.

Did we see some gel for 45 minutes then? We actually started doing the simple things well.

I know Waggy scored but he is frustrating, if only he'd run away from Francis or make space for himself. I think we saw a glimpse of how preferred CB pairing as well.

The football was pretty dire from both sides but the 2nd half was much improved, the boys had earnt a little bit of pride by the end. Hopefully coming from a goal behind will be a shot in the arm to the confidence in the side.

great second half perfomance at times really good to watch, and how refreshing to see a charlton player celebrate properly instead of the usual air wave.

Better 2nd half. Still not totally convinced.

    Reid obviously the difference.

Personally would have taken a penalties defeat to avoid another pointless game.

Pleased to get a result away from home as we have looked dodgy away recently.
  • Rubbish first half. Second half a hell of a lot better. Reid played well in the second half and good spirit to come back to win as we could have just as easily folded.

    Well done lads.

Hopefully this will set us up well for brighton

Reid might sometimes be frustrating, BUT give him enough of the ball and he will get quality crosses in

3 class crosses against the MK Dons in a week and all 3 result in goals..

Please get rid of Francis ASAP. He is literally the worst defender/footballer i have seen play for us.

First half was embarrasingly bad, 2nd half we learnt to get the ball in the box.

Reidy did fantastic, Waggy again pops up with a goal on the back of little all-round contribution (stick him up front!), Abbot cracking header and some nice touches

Fortune and Dailly looked solid at the back

We're by no means the finished article and a LOT is required to get us in and around the top in this shockingly poor division but good energy tonight and a marked second half improvement

It's all about the crosses lads... no cross - no chance - no goals - no wins! Simples!

    Slightly buoyed after tonight

The second goal was what we have been crying out for two forwards in the box making the full back go cover benson creating space for saggy. No good having one forward in there too easy to defend
  • I'm not too bothered about the fact that we won in the JPT, it's the manner of victory. Good pressure and we got the ball around the area giving Reid a chance to get a cross in and there were more players in the box. Akpo and Abbott if both fit on Saturday and also keep the same CB's please. Passing is the way, not hoof ball ;)
  • watched it online and got frustrated with the first half.

started cooking dinner and missed the first girl for us =[ but thought what i saw after that was fantastice =] keep that up for 90 mins week in week out and we can go far =]

    Reid - fantastic
    Waggy - well taken goal
martin - Great at times but needs to be more direct

think these 3 will be massive for us this season

  • I struggle to understand some of the comments about how dire we are. This is 1st division football and this is the level we are playing at. Most teams in this division are of a pretty similar standard!

I thought we dominated tonight's game for 88 minutes, after a shockingly slow start. It was a decent performance & a good result. Now we just need to repeat that at Plymouth on Saturday.
  • big cheer to those that went tonight. so pleased you got what you deserved. confidence is everything in football and you can only beat the team in front of you and a win is a win, so hope parky can use this to get some belief back. lets hope it starts a run (of good form)?
  • I don't know what to be happier with; the away win or winning on sky :-D. Woohoo!!

Great crosses from Reid early balls in the box and we score 2 goals as we did vs Brentford and MK last week. Maybe we're learning.

Actually thought Francis had a solid 2nd second half won headers and his passes didn't go astray. Shame Wagstaff went missing despite scoring.

For those saying Jackson should be tried in the centre he showed tonight he doesn't have a right foot and he doesn't have the agility to make up for it. Playing him anywhere other than on the left and he becomes a liability imo

Though overall good to see us perform second half, Parky did have an impact in the dressing room.

That is my only criticism of him, he does the give part of give and go well. Although very hard to be that annoyed at our top scorer who plays right wing

First half was very poor in my opinion. Second half much better.

Kyel Reid basically won the match for us. He looked dangerous every time he went forward in the second half.

I'm just gutted it wasn't a league game. It's imperative we start the Plymouth game properly.
