Elliot- 4 for those two saves in the first half
Dailly-7 I thought he played very well in a poor team
Jackson-4 Sorry I dont rate this bloke, cant see where he fits in, certainly not a left back or a winger
Fortune-5 Looked like he wasnt fit this game, carrying a knock or an illness?
Doherty-3 Very poor, very poor indeed
Martin-3 Show pony's dont win games, waste of a starting place if he can only do 45 minutes every few games, his whole body language was wrong
Semedo-5 Chasing shadows in an overun midfield, but he didnt give up like the others
Racon-4 Didnt use the ball when he got it...
Reid-5 If only this boy got his head up.....he would be unplayable
Benson-2 That ridiculous pass across goal.....Id have done better
Abbott- 4 First touch was at times awful, but he did at least try

    Subs
Francis- 3 Very poor defender on the ground, maybe he should be a CB
Anyinsah-4 Used his presence, but came on too late to make a real difference
Wagstaff 5 To be honest we havent looked right without him and Solly, they play really well together....lets hope Chris makes a speedy recovery.

Ref 6...got a couple of things wrong, but an improvement on the dross we have seen lately

Parkinson 1 He only got that for turning up at all....not that that made much difference....tactics? what tactics?

Elliot- 4 - Personally i'd like to see him replaced. No confidence in the bloke whatsoever. No blame for the goals.
Dailly- 6 - Only one who looked interested. Get him back in the middle.
Jackson- 5 - Need to get him away from LB asap.
Fortune- 3 - Sluggish, off the pace.
Doherty- 3 - Costing us a goal a game at the moment. Complete clown.
Martin- 5 - Seems like he can only manage 45 mins. Clearly got it but looked uninterested for long periods of the game.
Semedo- 5 - IMHO he's going backwards. Starting to get pushed off the ball with ease.
Racon- 3 - Lazy and offers nothing. Personally think we've persisted with him for to long.
    Reid- 5 - Frustrating
Benson- 2 - Why dont you just f*** off
Abbott- 4 - He try's but in all honesty he's just not good enough.

    Subs
Francis- 4 Don't particularly rate the bloke, but if you have a right back on the bench he has to play. (Moving Dailly out of the middle is sucicide)
Anyinsah- 5 Ran about a bit. Not the answer though
Wagstaff- 5 - If he's fit to be on the bench he's fit to play IMO. Top scorer in a poor side - surely he needed to start? Would rather he player for an hour and then went off.

Parkinson- 1 - Should bow out now. Enough is enough. Can't even be bothered to have a real rant about him.

Old boy who confronted Parky - 12. MOM - should get out Player of the year award. If he doesn't get his season ticket back, i'll offer him mine.

Elliot- 5, good shot stopper, needs to start doing the basics more confidently
Dailly- 6, out of position, still thought he looked better than Francis
Jackson- 5, cost us a goal
    Fortune- 6, average
    Doherty- 5, too slow
Martin- 6, the ingredients are there, needs to start producing something tangible though, i.e. decent crosses and shots
Semedo- 6, not the same player as last season
Racon- 6, better player than last season
Reid- 6.5, our most dangerous player once again, too many overhit crosses on Saturday though. Hope he's not out for long.
Benson- 5, proved why we bought him last week, offers very little when not scoring though
Abbott- 5.5, worked hard, needs a goal

    Subs
    Francis- 6
Anyinsah- 6, should start next week
    Wagstaff- 5.5
  • Options
Elliot- 4 not impressed at all. Looks heavy yet again. Far to slow and cumbersome off his line yet not dominant in the air. Give Worner a few more games
Dailly- 6 Did ok but missed in the middle
Jackson- 5 Would much rather he was in the midfield with Semedo. Not quite pacy enough for a ful back and badly cocked up for the 2nd
Fortune- 5 Doesn't attack the ball and always seems to laid back. Not convinced just yet
Doherty- 4 He is what I've always said he is. Clumsy and a donkey. He's effective when its up in the air but when on the deck he is shocking
Martin- 5 No end product. I was hoping he'd improve with regular football but so far im not seeing enough
Semedo- 5 Not the same player as lasy year. I get derided for saying it but he does not work well with Racon. Hugely important player for us but Ihe move in Jan for a small fee if we are not challenging for promotion
Racon- 3 Slow. Unfit. Stroppy. Lazy. Goes missing. All displayed on saturday. Time for a rest
Reid- 5.5 Didn't get into the game. Shame as our main tactic seems to be to give it to him and let the magic happen! I suppose his black legs with white boots do look a little bit like magic wands!
Benson- 3 Hmm. Pretty pants. Won a few headers though for a small chap!
Abbott- 4 Hmm pretty pants. Won no headers for a big chap!

    Subs
Francis- 5.5 What I saw was ok actually. Naturally because he is Simon Francis he will get low marks!
Anyinsah- 5 Didn't do anything of note.
Wagstaff- 5 Not enough time really.

Elliot-6 Left exposed but doesn't convince.
Dailly-6 Looked good on the ball at RB and showed Fortune how to win a few headers when he went to CB.
Jackson-4.5 He's not a left back so what is he? Totally lacking in aggression and drive.
Fortune-5 Positionally he's ok but cannot get off the ground...distinct disadvantage for a CB.
Doherty-4 Like Llera, he's whole hearted and against more direct teams we'll need him but terribly exposed against a footballing side.
Martin-5 Tries but we're missing someone to keep the ball and show a bit of nous.
Semedo-6 Never gave up but had to spend his whole time guarding the back four. Needs to occasionally take the shackles off and drive on.
Racon-5 Plenty of running but where were the tackles?
Reid-6 A threat without much end product. Can't pass for toffee so really only has one dimension to his game BUT the only player in this unwatchable team who remotely excites.
Benson-5 The new Francis Jeffers? Can see him being ditched as we have to resort to 4-5-1 (mainly due to the failings of his team mates).
Abbott-5 Did all of his good work outside the box. Slipped when he was about to score (headed over in first half) but it's not happening for him. When we go 4-5-1 he'll get ditched for Sodje.

    Subs
Francis-5.5 No shame in getting skinned by Lua Lua but like Jackson, he doesn't look like a full back to me.
Anyinsah-5.5 Looked rutsy. Thought he was a wide right player? Maybe time for a look at him there.
Wagstaff-4.5 Try him up front (for his pace & goal threat). Struggles to get into games in midfield. Not man enough.

    edited October 2010
Elliot- 6 let in 4 goals but hard to lay blame at his door for any of them. The ball was moving like a Waquar Younis inswinger for one of those saves in the first half!
Dailly- 6 Steady. Better as a centre half
Jackson- 5 Other than the obvious howler I thought he played quite well but has to be marked down for that backpass!
Fortune- 6 Did a job nothing particularly good or bad
Doherty- 5 Didn't inspire condidence and I reckon first goal was down to him
Martin- 5 Went missing which I've not seen him do before. Lightweight and anonymous most of the time
Semedo- 3 Gave Kish the freedom of SE London and offered little in support of either the defence or attack. I can remember one chase and tackle from him in the 2nd half otherwise zilch!
    Racon- 3 As Semedo
Reid- 6.5 End product lacking at times but always a threat. We will miss him for the rest of this season. My Charlton man of the match. Doesn't say much!
Benson- 6 anonymous but no service
Abbott- 6.5 tried to work hard but no service

    Subs
Francis- 5 got skinned but hardly surprising the team had given up by then
Anyinsah- 5 no service but tried
Wagstaff- 5 tried but could make no impact in a dispirited beaten side

Kishishev 9 Bossed the second half and starkly showed just how poor our midfield really is
  • Options
Elliot- 6 - He did 2 great saves in the first half and left completely exposed by his defence. I don't think was at fault for the goals.
Dailly- 5 - Still our best defender but he doesn't have the pace for a right back
Jackson- 4 - So slow. Not a bad defender but in a race he will rarely beat any winger for pace. Bad back pass.
Fortune- 5- Looked out of sorts and right to come off as looked unfit. But was a little better than Doherty
Doherty- 4 - So disappointed with him since he's arrived. I expected more of a solid defender. But can see why Norwich let him go for free now.
Martin- 6 - Looked dangerous in places, but after he got that wallop he seemed to have the hump for the rest of the game and largely inaffective afterwards.
Semedo- 4 - Very poor in my opinion today. Both him and Racon couldn't get a handle on the game at all. Beaten to second balls and easily dispossed.
    Racon- 4 - See above
Reid- 6 - Should have been used more when he was on. Really hope his injury isn't too serious as he is our main attacking threat.
Benson- 5 - Shocking decision to cross to no-one when one on one with keeper.
Abbott- 6 - Put himself about a bit to be honest. Looke fitter than he has done and good header in the first half. But if we don't get the balls into the box on his head he is very dissapppointing.

    Subs
Francis- 3 - Woeful defender. Sorry i can't see why we paid for him. Hope Solly is back fit soon. He may be young but at least Solly can tackle and run.
Anyinsah- 5 - Low score only because there was no point bringing him on and playing the same rubbish tactics. he looks like someone who likes to run with the ball so why lump it down the middle.
Wagstaff- 5 - Battled but too little too late from Parkinson bringing him to make a difference.

Overall - OK it was a bad game all round, but i still think we have the personnel to do well in this league. But they need to perform and need a manager and coach who can teach them how to react. We need to give McCormack, Fry, Anyinsah (even Jenkinson if he can play at right back) a try. Some players need a break and earn their places back, namely Doherty, Francis, Racon, even Semedo who i am a big supporter of. Its not working at the moment so change it. we haven't got the numbers to change it drastically but just tweaks in the right area's.

Elliot- 4, Good stop in first half - after he had fumbled. Looks low in confidence and shaky. Worner looks bigger, better and more confident
Dailly- 6, out of position, did his best - but not a right back and sadly lacking in pace
Jackson- 5, cost us the goal, but otherwise ok(ish)
Fortune- 6, average, lumbering, unfit (past it?)
Doherty- 5, too slow and slow to react without any football vision
Martin- 6, lively, needs to start producing better crosses and shots
Semedo- 6, still solid but looks a bit tired to me
Racon- 7, lots of good contribution, needs bit more confidence sometimes
Reid- 6.5, dangerous but too many overhit crosses and sometimes should JUST PASS.
Benson- 5, needs better service and I'm sure he'd score more - doesn't offer much when not scoring though
Abbott- 6, worked hard, needs a goal

    Subs
Francis- 6, did better than Dailly - why didn't he start?
    Anyinsah- 6, definate potential there
Wagstaff- 5, didn't really get into it.

Elliot- 7 Made a few good saves in the first half and was left exposed for all four goals
Dailly- 6 Tried to get forward but wasted out wide
Jackson- 5.5 Second goal wasn't his fault. Had no chance to recover once Doc f***ed up but he didn't have a good game
Fortune- 6 Not sure why he went off and Doc stayed on
Doherty- 3 Another mistake, another goal, so slow, a shadow of the player he was for Norwich last year. Seems a JFH buy, good player one season too late yet he's only 31.
Martin- 4 More flattering to deceive, started OK but then disappeared
Semedo- 4 never got to grips with their formation or won the 1-2-1 battles. Worst performance I can remember from him.
    Racon- 4 Really poor
Reid- 6.5 Was kicked on a regular basis in the first half with not even a booking from a very lenient ref. At least put some semi-decent balls into the box and fed Abbott early on. We will miss him if he's out for a while.
Benson- 4 poor all day. The limitations of his game exposed.
Abbott- 5.5 some glimmers early on but saw very little of the ball.

Waggy - hardly saw the ball
Anyinsah - Ditto - rest of team had given up by then
Francis - Thought he came on and did well and was having the best game for us I'd seen only to get skinned at the death for goal number 4.

Brighton - Good side, not great players but a good side who played a clever passing game, marked and kicked Reid out of it and controlled the ball when they had and condensed the midfield when they didn't.
  • Options
Elliot- 6 not at fault for the goals, couple of good saves. Don't believe Worner would do any better.
Dailly- 6 best defender but not saying much.
Jackson- 4 needs to play in midfield
Fortune- 6 did not do a lot wrong imho
Doherty- 3 awful, has cost us a fair few goals recently. Needs to be dropped.
Martin- 3 send him back, since August he has had one good 45mins against Plymouth. Flatters to deceive, see why he has never made a good impression at any of his loan clubs or Ipswich.
Semedo- 4 worst game for Charlton, or certainly for a long time.
Racon- 3 whats the point of him, nearly winter so he won't have another good game till March
Reid- 6 some decent crosses, was kicked a lot. We'll miss him
Benson- 3 nothing to add to what others have said
Abbott- 6 worked hard, looked better than Benson.
