  • People talking about £10m for Wagstaff must be joking

    He's worth at least £20m

Now that is a bit over the top!
  • Well not sure we’re going to sign Waggy, but who do you think we should sign?

    Danny or Robert 😉
  • Like to take a gamble on Luke Woolfenden of Ipswich, not 1st choice but big, good on ball, not slow. Can have Naby moments but young.
  • Cullen on a perm
    Leko on a perm
    Send Kayal back
Nketiah on loan (if he gets recalled)
If Nketiah stays at Leeds, then Parrot on loan
    Herbie Kane on loan
    Toney on a perm
    And a left back

Add to that a left sided centre back
  • Apart from sending Kayal back to Brighton, I just can't see any of the rest happening.

So we hit the big time with our Abu Dhabi owners and we want to be looking at players who are not even first choice for a league one side?

We need to be looking much higher than that to ensure we take a no risk approach to avoiding relegation

How much would we have to pay for, say, Semi Ajayi? Who is a quality LCB? The two Swansea guys were decent but what cost? I don't think our owner is going Man City, but merely a competitive squad.

Semi Ajayi came through the Charlton Academy and was a regular for our U23 side.

There was some problem with his contract, so he left and signed for Arsenal.

Aware of that Oggy, but he is one of the best rated CHs in Championship, alas from memory right sided, but also plays CM. Should be on Arsenal's radar, but they will pay £30m for a donkey from Kazakhstan.

I’m sure Bowyer and Gallen can find a suitable player somewhere between the level of an Ipswich squad player and West Brom’s multi million pound first choice.

I may be wrong but were we not skint (as ever) and Powell rated Kevin Feely higher so he got the longer contract?  Bad choice in hindsight

I remember reading on here Ajayi was only offered a 6 month contract. I'm sure he had a couple of trials, one being Arsenal, where I think he signed 2 year deal. Feely gave up playing football, Wikipedia says he now plays Gaelic football.

Yeah. Think it was 2012 when the spivs owned us.  Feely and Ajeyi were both in the youth and Powell said something about only having money for one to stay on a longer contract and we gave it to Feely who ended up in lower league footy before going into Gaelic football.  One of those things and being 7 years ago my memory may be wrong
