I loved Di Canio but was incredibly disapointed when some of his extreme political views came to light. Tainted his memory for me. West Ham are desperate and will try anything - maybe his passion can have an effect but they have to sack the manager to have any chance of staying up and then bring the right replacement in. Somebody like Curbs but he is one manager they won't bring back .lol
Letting Curbs go was probably the worst of many bad decisions they made. I think we all knew that managing WH was his greatest wish, unfortunately having the money to be able to buy Clubs does not mean that you have the wisdom and experience to run them well. We are seeing that being proved constantly these days, I believe that people - managing skills are in short supply in today's game. Tango man was a wonderful example of having acquired the money, but lacking all of the other necessary attributes.
[cite]Posted By: uncle[/cite]I think you'll find that getting Curbs in the first place was their biggest mistake.
What a terrible mistake it was hiring Curbishley...If they'd not hired him they would already have been relegated years ago. They were doomed under Pardew.

Never been a "misty eyed" Curbs fan but perhaps I am missing something. What an odd comment Uncle I think.
Not really odd but everyone on here looks at it through a Charlton perspective, from a west ham supporters view its different and had curbs never been at Charlton no one would be saying they should have kept him. I didn't like him didn't like his style of football and yes i know he managed to keep them up but with that team i could have too. Its about opinions and being a bit nearer the west ham scene, my is he was never right fotr west ham. It was he's dream job, but one mans dream is another mans nightmare.

Save our season. In November. How will the players and fans feel if they lose? Will they hold a "save our season.....again" day?
See Wigan for just 20 pounds
With a sales pitch like that, I think I'll buy seven tickets.
