Not had any rumours in a while

A HOST of Championship clubs are monitoring the progress of Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Romain Vincelot, according to reports.

Skysports.com claim Ipswich, Millwall and Reading, as well as League One rivals Charlton, are all interested in the Frenchman, who has been one of the few shining lights for Daggers boss John Still this season.

Vincelot, 25, joined from French side FC Gueugnon back in January and has been a revelation in the centre of midfield, scoring five goals so far this campaign.

Still may have a battle on his hands to keep his star player when the transfer window opens in the new year, with Dagenham struggling in the relegation dogfight.

Anyone know much about him?

Didn't Brighton and us have him on trial before the Daggers ? We were linked with him in the summer.

I've heard good reports both form Daggers and O's fans ( apparently he took them apart single handed ), it would be useful to have someone who could cover the right side and centre of defence and central midfield .

Read a story about him in French magazine a couple of weeks ago. It appears he has had unsuccessful trials with a number of English clubs, Charlton included,
and has had to settle with the Daggers at a very low salary (about £500 a week), so desperate was he to try and establish himself in England.
Daggers got promoted, his salary was doubled and he's now probably their best player in spite of his very average physical characteristics. Flattered at being
monitored by several clubs but was very happy at Dagenham etc...
