Looking to leave Birmingham. Just wondered if anyone thinks he'd be worth a punt on a 6-month deal? 37 but by god he still knows where the net is. Always thought he'd play for us one day but unfortunately hasn't happened. I think he'd be worth bringing in, wages would probably put bed to it though.

  • Would love to see him in a Charlton shirt. Sheringham was still doing it in his late 30s and i think KP would be deadly at this level.

One of my favourite ever players.
  • If we can afford it. Definately worth it.

He will score goals wherever he goes and at League 1 level would be fantastic. Even at 37.

If (big if) we signed him I would be "over the moon".

Yes from me, he keeps himself fit and still looks sharp, he would cause problems in league 1.

Get him in. If he played 20 minutes per match in every game, I'd fancy him to score more goals than Akpo or Abbott if they played the full 90 every week.

Playing with live wires like Anyinsah and Ecclestone he shouldn't need to do too much channel running so he can concentrate on being Johnny on the spot in the penalty area.

He would be absolute dynamite in League 1, but sadly I'd be amazed if noone in the Championship went for him.

Ecclestone had clubs in Championship in for him but he chose us. Phillips is from down South I think?

Would personally love it if he signed.

Could have the same impact as Forster last season, (but better I hope) a bit of experience on the field for the likes of Aninysah and Wagstaff could go a long way.

    Yes please
  • would love him to sign for us....even if it's for this season only. maybe a good punt on a one year deal, especially if Powell is thinking he's going to mix up the squad with a few younger players.

That's quite strange. I've always thought he'd play for us too. I thought it was his destiny after the play off final. If he came, i'd imagine it would have to be in some sort of player coach role. I think that would be the only position that would tempt him.

Perhaps it would be his chance to be on the winning team in a play-off final? ;-)
  • Defo sign him up...young lads from the Prem is good but you need some older heads to go with them, at this level he would still do a great job.

    Watford I believe?

Honestly would be amazed if we got him.

always liked him, great player and seems a decent fella to boot.

would love us to sign him, but as said above, really think he could still do a job in the championship....must still be on decent wages as well

  • Mention in a couple of transfer threads that he was the player we should sign.

Well, i'm just popping out to 1995 in my time travelling machine. shall i put him on my shopping list?

Does anyone know if he's looking to go into coaching when he hangs up his boots? if so, we could possibly add that as a sweetener.

6 month deal? Give him a 3 year... he'd easily still make it at champ level and possibly prem, class act!

I think he hates us and won't come -- can;t think of any other reason why he scores so many goals against us.

dont buy into a 37 year old scoring for fun in this league, yes he was a quality player but can he really cut it now against players who in the main are younger and need the job! Not so sure myself but hey prove me wrong Kevin!!
