Dietmar Hamman replaces Chris Powell at Leicester

Hopefully that weakens MK Dons a little.

"Leicester City have added MK Dons player-coach Dietmar Hamann to their backroom staff.

Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson was keen to add to his coaching set-up after first-team coach Chris Powell left to become Charlton manager in January.

Former Liverpool and Germany midfielder Hamann played under Eriksson when the Swede was in charge at Manchester City.

Hamann, 37, who joined MK Dons in July 2010 after leaving Eastlands in 2009, will not play for Leicester.

He moved to England in 1998, playing one season at Newcastle before joining Liverpool.

Hamann scored the final goal at the old Wembley as Germany beat England 1-0 - a result which led to then England boss Kevin Keegan resigning, with Eriksson taking over."

Comments

  • His contract was up with MK in a few weeks anyway and they didn't really make much of an effort to try and extend it.
