  • Some interesting stats.

You would expect the centre backs to score a few over the course of a season, from free kicks and corners. Dailly, Doherty and Llera have 1 league goal between them so far.

Also, Goals and Assists from Central Midfield are quite low. Semedo, Racon and McCormack have 3 goals and only 1 assist between them in all league matches.

It would be interesting to know what last seasons final totals were in those areas. Probably difficult to quantify the CM totals, as Bailey made a few appearances in the centre as well as on the left.
  • Cheers Dazzler , were did you get these from?
  • Some casual observations...

BWP has scored two goals and had a shot straight at the keeper 1st half v Colchester....that's 3 shots on target.

Anyinsah has only scored one more goal than Abbott in probably about the same amount of minutes on the pitch.

Wagstaff's goal per on target shot ratio is in a different league to that of Lee Martin.

Matt Fry has had more shots than Semedo (and more goals).

Jackson's assists are only one more than those of Simon Francis.

Doc is at least as creative as Racon and I reckon his assists should be 2...header across goal at Plymouth for Benson and huge header forward for Sodje v Yeovil which resulted in a penalty/red card.

    Llera should shoot more.

I'm not sure being taken out for a penalty counts as an assist, so a header forward to a player who gets fouled is definitely not an assist :)

I'd say centre midfield is the most worrying of the lot. I can't think of many promotion sides who have 2 non-goalscoring, non-assisting centre midfielders in their side. The centre backs is less of a concern - it took Richard Rufus 170 odd games to score 1 then he ended up with a few goals a season for the remainder of his career. Very easy to go through a dry patch.

we have the best record against teams in the top half of the league:

you two should join up and do the statbank together. Seriously, would be good.

  • sorry I don't agree. The way I try and do the stats is after every match I do the averages for the match and the season so far, I then include a different stat each week, such as those done by Dazzler to add interest, but not the same after each match. Whilst I applaud Dazzler's efforts I don't think that they are necessary as they are the same stats that I would have included in the next few matches and with 2 matches a week would have soon got through them, it only complicates things if two of us are doing it independently and I see no need to combine our efforts as I am happy to produce them myself.

This is not meant as an attack on Dazzler, who I am sure produced these stats with the best of intention, and he had no way of knowing that it is in my mind to produce similar over the next few weeks. However I would rather continue on my own or not at all, I am always open to suggestion for stats and have tried to follow up on Lifers' suggestions.

So Henry and AFKA the answer is no.
  • These stats and more are all on the FL site for anyone that wants to check them regularly. They also have stats across the league as well as the club.

  • Ouch burned....

My stats are direct from the OS and crossed checked with the football league website.

Don't worry LL i believed your stats were to be strictly about the weekly ratings etc.

    I'll leave it to you.
  • I like lancashire lads stats after every match with the averages for the match and the season so far, but then I like Dazzlers stats, with the big statistics so far this season, but who's are best?

Only one way to find out..................................................
  • STAT WARS HAS BEGUN
  • sure that before the statbank included not just the match player scores but other 5 or 6 stats similar to Dazzlers every week. I liked that format.

I think they compliment each other and it would be better to have them on the one page every week.

I'd also like to see things like current form and sequences included.

But I'm not putting the time in to compile them all.

So in the top 6 we have second worst goal difference but 3 games in hand over 2nd spot and with that a possible 9 points
  • we are well in this and you better believe it everyone in that top 6 will be looking at our form and games in hand knowing that we can get up there into 2nd the games against those sth coast p****ks are massive
  • the 2 games in hand are both away games at Hartlepool & Rochdale who are both playing well, by all accounts - 3 points from these 2 games would be good
