  • We are please to announce that Rob Elliot will be our second guest along with Steve Kavanagh.

We hope to see you all there!
  • Just a reminder of this event next Thursday.

In addition to our usual fund raising raffle, we will be auctioning a Charlton shirt signed by the current squad on behalf of Jackie Fotheringham, a Charlton fan who is running the London Marathon for Age UK.
  • Up again
  • Two excellent guests.

Heard them both do Q + As before and both speak well.

Robbie says much more than footballers clichés while Kav is always good value with some interesting insights. Both quite funny as well ( as in ha ha not weird)

Well worth a trip IMHO if only to see the pairs facial expressions when the "which players are leaving?" Question is asked.
  • Hoping that we are going to get a good crowd tomorrow evening, especially with two excellent guests in attendance. Both membership and admission are free with all Charlton supporters, their family and friends being most welcome to participate in what promises to be a lively debate.
  • A big thank you to everyone who came tonight. We raised £100 for Jackie Fotheringham who is running the London Marathon for Age UK through the sale of a signed Charlton shirt, which is excellent news.

A big thank you too to Steve and Rob who came across excellent tonight, especially with some of the questions; no doubt some of you will be wanting to know the answers too!

    Yes please.
  • Any chance?
  • Steve and Robbie were two excellent guests, who came across as great ambassadors and represented the Club superbly. Always difficult to deal with the type of questions raised, when put on the spot during a losing run, but both Steve and Robbie responded honestly and to the point which certainly made me feel that the Club is good hands and will be challenging for promotion next season. As a bonus, £100 was raised through the auction of a signed shirt on behalf of Jackie Fotheringham, who is running in this month's London Marathon on behalf of Age UK.
  • Well the big thing for me was that we've sold around 2500 season tickets so far. I think Steve said that was 10% down on last year. By the end of last season we'd sold 5000 and then 9000 by the start of the season. So hopefully the same thing will happen again.

Steve also said that no contracts are to be discussed until the end of the season. Rob spoke very highly of Connor Gough and thinks he could definitely be a top keeper. I asked him about Twitter and the abuse that McCormack and Benson received, and he thought it was pathetic, if people want to say something say it to their faces, not cowardly by the internet. And he also mentioned that when The Valley is rocking the players really feel it, so we've got to get behind them.

Excellent speakers though, especially Rob who went through about 5 glasses of water.

    Did he spill any?
  • Luckily no.
  • The season ticket figure is from a count on Tuesday. It's already well out of date.

You did say count didn't you?
  • Any more?

Especially about the playing side ...... tactics, absence of key players and how that affects the mindset of the team, training, etc

Also any funny/colourful stories about the new players?
