Does anybody now still disagree that the most urgent position to sort out in the team is centre midfield? I agree central defence needs looking at along with a target man and virtually every other position but surely if you had only 1 position you could go for, it would have to be central midfield wouldn't it?

    I'm agreeing with you that central midfield is the most important area to sort out.

    EDIT: You've effectively asked two questions and I answered the 2nd bit with "Yes"

    Do think we really need 2, and Powell has said he wants 2. Hard to see a combination up front that would work. Only Anyinsah gives us strength, and none of them are particularly good in the air.

    With midfield there's no option in the squad. I suppose up front, if we really had to, we could play Doherty there...!

    Our central midfield needs two new players or we will continue to be outplayed in that area.

    We're not being outplayed in midfield - we're being outworked.

    If anything we're trying to play too much in midfield with players who simply don't have the ability.

    No matter how poor they are I think letting both Akpo and Abbott go was a big mistake - unless he is going to bring another target man in. I'm not particular a fan of a 'little and large' combo but it did give us more options when two/three smaller forwards are not working.

    We desperately need a creative midfielder and then I would be happy to see Semedo drop back to centre half where his ability to reads the game as well as he does would really benefit us at the moment.

    We need a Claus Jensen/Andy Reid type but I just can not think of anyone realistic we could attract.
