So we are signing the Spanner's third choice keeper on an emergency loan ?

I think he played against us for Yeovil ,surely we could get a better option.

Are you suggesting that we're intentionally signing someone who isn't the best we can possibly get?

It's the idea of signing the Spanners 3rd choice makes me realise how far we have fallen.

On the positive side Ben Roberts would have coached him at Yeovil so that would be the connection.

I assume we'll be playing Worner and he'll be warming the bench - in that case I'm not too worried.

    Kenny Jackett:

"John Sullivan is a talented young goalkeeper but is behind two experienced keepers here and hasn't had too many opportunities.

"Charlton are looking to improve their goalkeeping options and the goalkeeping coach there Ben Roberts knows him very well from when they worked together at Yeovil earlier in the season.

"John is going there for a month and hopefully he gains some experience and gets some games.

"I haven't insisted he will play.

"It is a situation where he isn't even on the bench here so how he does at Charlton or whether they select him or not is obviously down to them."

Played a lot for Yeovil earlier this season, from memory he did not do a lot wrong at The Valley- by this I mean I don't think he was at fault for the goals.

We could do worse, if Powell is thinking he may play ahead of Worner then at least he has played in the League before and knows Roberts.

if they play him in front of worner then we might as well get rid of worner
worner has only appeared 9 times for us and i think he should be given a run to see if he's up to scratch
robbie has had nearly 100 games and is 2 years older than worner and at this moment in time i can't see much between em

    Patronised by Jackett.

Does it get any better than this?

I know where you're coming from. It's not really who we've signed but where we've signed him from. Spanners must be laughing at us now.

Maybe I am alone here and being naive but really do not see the problem with signing Milwalls third choice keeper. This is based purely on the fact he seems to be a good keeper who Roberts clearly rates and one who has played a fair few games at this level this season. It is not ideal I admit that he is from our rivals but looking at their squad they have 3 keepers who are all good enough for League 1 and if he does well for Charlton then who cares that he has come from Milwall. Lets be honest, signing their third choice keeper and maybe giving Milwall a bit more ammunition when taking the piss out of us is hardly the most important thing we have to worry about right now.

Hope he plays and does well.
  • I work along side a few Millwall fans and I can honestly say that I never thought I would see the day where we would bring in a player on from Millwall (a player on loan is one that would improve us or provide cover). Not only that, he is player who is a 3rd choice keeper that has no chance of getting in the Millwall team (that is basically what Jackett is saying).

I know he is only going to sit on the bench but for to be ridiculed about it by Millwall fans ( some of which did not know who he was!) for the last hour just shows low the club have come.

    With Dan on this.

No idea who this bloke is but Roberts knows him and it's only for a short while. In the summer we'll see if he joins or someone else comes in.

Totally agree, the club is a shambles at the moment. But don't worry everything will be alright next season.
