Only one of the Mamas and Papas left now. So many groups from the last 40 years or so have lost one or two members. It's almost as if you're not real Rock 'n Roll unless one of you band dies.
Beatles - Only two left.
The Who - Ditto
Stones - Brian Jones
Led Zep - John Bonham
Sweet - Brian Connoly and Mick Tucker
Mud - Les gray and the drummer
Beach Boys - Two dead
Free - Paul Kossoff
AC/DC Bonn Scott
And loads more.
Can you imagine any of todays pretenders ( they've lost a couple too!) having the bottle to die? I guess Pete Doherty is trying but then his music is crap anyway.
I bet Liam and Noel would love one of their band to die just to give them some sort of cred.

"I''ll be dead by Christmas now anyway......."
Mark Bolan and Micky Finn.
I remember interviewing Mickey on Millennium one Saturday Morning - Talk about out of it! We rang him at 11.00am and got told to feck off as we weren't paying him, quick call to his agent and we got him on the phone. He couldn't remember a thing about the 70's. A walking advert for what a little too much of what you fancy does to you!
Is Ritchie dead though?
You can add Ian Dury, Michael Hutchence to this list.
Hugh Mundell
Joseph Hill(lead singer with Culture died recently whilst performing a gig in germany)
Syd Barrett from the Floyd
