    Great idea.

Born June 17, 1976. On 21 August, 1976, Charlton went down 0-2 to Cardiff. 9,762 at The Valley.

In fact, they didn't win until 10 Sept, 1976, 4-3 over Luton Town. (Hales hatrick).

Finished the season 7th in the Second Division. Killer was sold on that year.
As I was born on 3rd August 1976, I would assume that mine is the same as this.  Killer came back though so us 30 somethings could say we saw him play too!

The day after I was born we beat Plymouth 1-0.  Not putting the date in, though ;-)
    We beat them 1-0 in 1922 , 1963 , 1966  & 1967 and no 1-0 wins since.

    Sorry Weegie! ;-)

February 18th 1986, first game was a 0-0 draw away at Stoke.

We did get promoted that season though!

Having temporarily given up wooing the girls, I won't give a rat's arse if Bedsaddick figures this one out.

We drew at Huddersfield the day I was born, then lost at home to Derby the following saturday.

    Big Sam was in goal.

    And March51 feels he's ancient ............

  •  I don't know. I couldn't read for a couple of years or so.

Looking at the stats i would say it was the year my mum was born ( and Prince Charles ) although the Derby games was a couple of weeks after. I could be wrong.

At last, thanks Adrian: I was getting quite depressed. But don't mention the trams: they get upset!

Born 7 Nov 1981 and we lost at home to Liecester 2-1
  • I was born on April 29th 1986, so according to Wiki:

"3 May 1986 – Liverpool are confirmed champions of the First Division,
while the final relegation place will be occupied by either Oxford
United or Ipswich Town. On the same day, Charlton Athletic seal
promotion from the Second Division with a 3–2 win at
    relegation-threatened Carlisle United."

The only time I've been to a game on my birthday, was in the 99/00 season, when we celebrated promotion to the Premiership by losing to Ipswich 3-1.  I remember the Ipswich fans singing "Are you watching, Manchester?" - unfortunately for them, Manchester City were too busy winning, and securing the 2nd automatic promotion place.  But you all knew that anyway.
  • And, after looking at stattoo, it seems we actually played Fulham the day I was born, and won 2-0.  Good times.
