Welling are through to the FA Trophy Quarter finals.... They beat Worcester City on Sat at PVR 2-1. The 1/4 Final is on the bloody same day as CAFC V WHUFC. Gutted, as they drew Grays Athletic, would have been nice to see both games.
Having a good season generally, the win over Worcester was a good one, but the previous victory of Conference side Tamworth was a better one, even though they are struggling.
Grays will be tough, they are the holders having won it twice on the trot, and although they have been struggling in the Conference of late, it would be a great result if Welling can pull it off.
Interviewed Ady Pennock a few weeks ago for the show and should do so again soon on the back of Saturday's win. We also hope to have a few of the players on soon as well.
Yeah Welling seem to have turned a corner, previously remember going down the road to watch them when they had the likes of Nade and Sodie playing etc, to watch them being taught a lesson by Tamworth etc.
Can't see one player there now that was there a few years ago, crowds seemed to have dwindled as well despite them improving.
Dartford got another crowd of over 1,500 at the weekend.
sitting second in the league, give it a couple of seasons with crowds like that and they'll be much stronger than the other teams. The only problem is that i think Dartford BC own the ground so i'm not sure how much cash DFC actually get.
