  • Pretty damn good swap for Parker though.  Takes the necessity of a second forward out of the lineup, can play off a front man in that div, reliable in a midfield two with two up front and much more likely to not pick up niggling injuries.  As beautiful as Parker's play can be to watch, he was most effective with Behrami picking up the pieces for him.

    Whilst I kind of agree with you BFR, Chelsea were not the force they are now.  All of Villa, Everton, Tottenham, Newcastle, Leeds, Ipswich, even us have had chances to either get in the top 4 or have; no doubt some others I've forgotten.  Up until ten years ago some of the above clubs could sign players covetted by other European clubs, all too often they wasted their chances to compete.  They're nearly all so top heavy with wages now, everyone of them wants a bit of sovereign/oligarch wealth.  We'll just have to wait for the next downturn and see who's most open to derivative multiplyin crash debt.
