Hayes stats suggest to me ,he will set up as many goals as he'll create imo.

Did you actually mean to write that ? ;0)
  • I'm not getting excited about Hayes until ive seen him play , so all i can go on for now is what he's done elsewhere.

I won't be satisfied until he's scored at least 25 goals, set up another 30 and is photographed in his family's trademark cardigan..........

He's better than Ben, he's slimmer than Beeeeeeeeeeen

    He's better than Ben

    I'll get my cardigan

Meanwhile in the real world - great signing.  Not the world's best player but great for the team.  Will be slagged off for not scoring 30 yards screamers every week while his hold up play and movement is overlooked.
  • Well Henry if he does what you say , then i'll be happy.

So he will be creating goals and setting up goals? Sounds like we have got two for the price of one!

No wonder it took so long to sign him up! over 700 posts on 1 player is astounding , you'd have thought we'd signed Alan Simonson.

Make you right Henry. Look at the lack of regard many had for Burton yet when he left we were up sh1t creek.

As Randy says, quote from twitter:-

''Can't wait to move home and get the season started with CAFC, I'm so up for this''

He certainly seems keen to be playing for us, I hope it works out well for him (and us!)

Wait till he gets charltonised and then booed...
  • I know we've been here before about the term 'charltonised' but what does it say about our coaching , hopefully this situation will improve Mr Slater?

Agree with you, Clive in the Co-op.

    Hopefully Mr Slater will improve.

    ;o)
  • I just hope Mr Slater , gets a flavour of what the fans are thinking , i know some of it is tosh , but there are pardon the pun , threads of truth in a lot of what people say , perhaps he doesn't need to be told and he knows it already , perhaps he's got such a long list of things to work through , it all takes time to put right , they've only been on the job 6 months , i guess its all about the POG as i call it (pace of progress) , how fast things can happen and also getting things right , mistakes are going to be made along the way , as in any business , but at least learn from them and don't be too proud to put your hands up occasionally when you do cock it up.

think they are doing a grand job so far. Indentified we had a crap manager and got rid. Identified we needed a new screen and got one. Identified people were fed up with what has happened the last few seasons and reduced season ticket prices to maximise season ticket renewals. Identified that the scouting system, such as it was, was crap and have overhauled it and appointed Vetere. Realised the youth system was vitally important and so appointed one of the most respected youth team coaches in the country to oversee it. And now are backing CP in an attempt to get out of League 1. Not a bad start.

a syrup? if he's a succes i think we should all chip in for a transplant. He'd be a laughing stock in football circles slumming it with a syrup.
  • Maybe we should nickname him syrup?

And agree, great post, Large ! Are you on the happy pills ?

He doesn't need them when it's been weeks since Charlton were last beaten.
