So, did Bexley Dan play for Welling?  And I bet he showed some stuff.
unfortunately i was unable to parade my skills - i was already booked up at an event in Clacton although it was acknowledged that in the dads v kids match i was one of the main creative forces on show and would have controlled the midfield if it wasn't for some of the oppositions hatchet men.Don't think it was a coincidence that the Semedo deal got pushed through just before the Welling game either - he was clearly not up for the potential showdown.
  • Danny Hollands bossed the Midfield in the second half... and the ball in for MM goal was fantastic.

Although he was nearly on the goal line when he scored, the keeper should be getting that away everytime

Don't understand the negatives about Stephens. Most stuff went through him and it wasn't his fault that neither Hayes or Popo were on the same wavelength. Those dissing him probably the same ones who thought Jonjo was crap.

As Oggy says I'm right. Came away from Welling lasat season and said that McOxo was crap. For me no-one was crap but Hayes impressed the least and Green, Morrison and Hollands the most. Isquediero and Warren very impressive too but can't see either being involved except in cups maybe.

Agreed & unfortunately Waggy was the worst. Perhaps, he can learn off Green. Stop faffing around and just get an early cross in. Preferably in front of the goal & not behind it   :-)

Dale Stephens will be a top player for us

I also agree, i thought Stephens was one of our best players in the first half along with Warren. He looked as if he always wanted the ball and when he got it he knew exactly what he wanted to do with it, looked up and passed it forwards, i think he's going to be class for us this year.

Agree about Stephens & said in an earlier post that I was impressed with him.

CEJ-your're right and the reason he knew what he wanted to do with the ball was because he didn't look up when he had the ball, he had already had a glance around him before he received the ball. To me, that is the sign of a player who has confidence in his own ability. You'd be surprised how many players don't do it and is the difference between giving you that valuable extra second.

From the highlights, I agree that Ben Davisson (no. 17?) seemed to be playing really well.

Pleasantly surprised that the tall authoritative figure that oozed confidence in the first half was Stephens. He made one ot two errors but for such a young player showed far more belief and ability than too many that have gone before him recently. This was probably a little deeper than he's used to playing too as he had to allow Bover the freedom. Both impressed.

both davisson and hollands passing particularly impressed me. simple but effective. pritchards running off the ball was great too, just needs to work on finishing
