Suppose it might be a bit of a mission to find out who is recorded as the longest season ticket holder, but whoever they are I like them.

Got my first half year season ticket in 84/85. Think I might've missed a year or two during the Selhurst years - although never missed a game at Selhurst, just didn't get a ST - but that's only one or two years in 26. Not bad. (MUG!)

    22 Years
  • missed 1 year in 1994, but still went to every Home match
And I thought you were "proper Charlton"  :-)
Very long story, but I "rebelled" against CAFC !  (Still got the mental scars.....)
What was the problem MOG, no faith in Curbishley? ;-)

This season will be number 14 in a row, although I went to most home games from Jan 1994 (when I was aged 7) until 1998 when we got promoted so the only way to actually get a ticket was to have an ST..
  • Despite going very reqularly we (my Dad and I) never thought about getting season tickets until I went to University. During the Selhurst days my Dad used to buy the tickets over the phone and have them sent out to us in the post. When I moved out (to go to University) it seemed like a silly idea to have the tickets sent to two different addresses, and if we had the whole season's tickets in advance we would have guaranteed seats then so we could make our own way there and meet in 'our' seats.

This started in 1989. Sadly our plan was foiled as we moved to Upton Park where there were no reserved seats and by the time we moved back to the Valley I only had six months left before I moved back home.

Thought I'd share the story as, under the circumstances, 23 years seems rather pathetic.

    What are Ground Season Tickets?
At The Valley You could buy either a "Ground Season Ticket" (meaning you could stand in the Covered End, East terrace or (What was then The South stand) the Jimmy Seed stand), or a "Stand" ticket, which meant You could Sit in The West.

Excellent thread... I am trying to work this out.. It only seems like 5yrs since I consecutively bought season tickets. I have had one for every year since we moved bak to the Valley. so that would be at least 18yrs... I don't reall having one when at West Ham and just paid on the door and didnt at Selhurst Park as I wasn't a true fan then I was a glory fan of Liverpool of the team of Dalglish, Keegan, Heighway, Kennedy bro's, Grobbelaar etc... supporting Charlton was something special. Spurs were also my 2nd best team. However, once I started hearing about their moaning  fans I went off them quickly. Also I remember going to Arsenal's ground and WHL as a Charlton supporter and I had rather annoyed about their insults on Charlton and that we were seen as a small club syndrome and we shouldn't be in their "big boys" league..

This will be my 10th consecutive season. I think.

First ever game was against Bolton, Euell skying a pen towards the covered end. Been season ticket ever since the season after that.
As im now 18, paying my own way, which is hard.
