Yo Lifer dudes!! Im going to complain about the NHS, who have quite frankly messed up a simple procedure of stitching my head up after a fall!! Has anyone on here managed to get anything in the way of compo from the NHS!!

Basically i fell cut open my head, had a massive flap off skin hanging off me bonce right down to my skull and instead of stitching it they glued it, so much glue was used that still there is glue in the flap stopping it from fusing back to my head!! i'll up load some pics to show you all!!

Looking at the first pic I would be more concerned they have stitched your head on under your arm pit, sue the bastards (only joking fella, I hope you sort it) :-)

I thought they were doing the surgery on it this week?
  • Options
So now as it stands, after 5 weeks they decide i need plastic surgery, and it could take weeks to even get seen, and with 6 weeks till my wedding i'm not a happy bunny!!
  • Options
Well Plaaayer they said that, and now they think i'm not priority, so was basically fobbing me off, still not heard from plastic surgeon!!

Maybe Gingers are classed as non-priority?

Seriously mate, pursue it through any avenues you can - it's been ages and its simply not good enough.

I maybe they didn't like the fact that he said he's need to have a sh*t break every 5 minutes through the proceedure.

That looks grim. Were you pissed when it happened?

Well, kind of, i wasn't hammered, had 3 cans, but on the friday night after a 65 hour week of nights, with very little sleep in the day (hot and kids noisy), anyway i done the 3 cans nothing un usual about that (normally i'd bury 6 and be fine) and then went outside for a cigarette, got an almighty head rush, fell into a bush backward, then, mindful that i'm a grown man in a bush i rushed to get up, and plummeted head first into the metal gripper rod type stuff they put around one of those hesion type wipey feet mats!! Knocked myself out and was concussed for  about 2 weeks!!

Stopped doing the nights now, although i was only doing it so i can try pay for my wedding!!  It was quite an un lucky chain of events really!!

You need to consult a solicitor that specialises in medical negligence claims. They will assess possibly with the aid of a medical opinion as to whether there is a negligence element to you treatment or if you have just been unlucky. Not all treatment even when carried out correctly has a good outcome and that is the crux of this case. good luck. Not that it matters but I work for the NHS.

As long as you are prepared to wait 5 years for a piddling payout - go right ahead.

Only the worst kind of solicitors make money out of these things, you will get fed up after a year and wonder why you bothered.
  • Options
Yeah - that will prejudice any claim you might make. Speak to an ambulance chaser and see what they say. Stitches are only really used in facial injuries in case of profuse bleeding - where it's felt that it will be as effective, 'gluing' is always the preferred alternative, as it leads to less scarring. Of course, that doesn't look to be the case here :(

Ollie. FBook me. Can give an NHS compliance manager and a injury claim para legal

Can you not threaten legal action to someone to hurry along the plastic surgery?

  • Options
Cheers Henry. My other main concern is that if i dont get seen by plastic surgeon soon, it may get infected, then i'm royally foooked! Scar for life on my face, just because they didnt stitch/put far too much glue on it!! Its so hard to manage daily, hard not knocking it, and hard that my kids are a bit scarred of it!!

I dont necessarily want compo, just to be sorted out sooner rather than later!
  • Options
Oh Curb it  my GP has referred it, and they cannot do anything else untill it gets read by the surgeon! So all i can do is wait!! Could be up to 8 weeks they reckon!! I have to live with this open wound until then!! Tough!
  • Options
Can you not pull it open and then go back to A&E and demand it be seen to again?  sounds a bit drastic..
  • Options
I could i suppose, but that would hurt!! Its quite sore now, but i suppose it would be an option, drastic one, but still an option!!

Can I just say that not all law firms dealing in medical negligence are not reputable. There are literally thousands of treatments of all types carried out every day and you can be certain that some will be done outside protocol or negligently. Of these treatments it is again certain that a tiny fraction will be able to attract compensation. As they should.

Contact the press: "NHS ruins wedding" might help move things along...

    CHARALTON?

Reminds me of a bloke my mate knows who went to a tattoo parlour pissed out of his mind in Greece and asked for 'PORNO' to be tattooed on his stomach (Christ alone knows why) - but ended up with 'PRONO' on there instead (Greek tattooist couldn't speak English)

A Charalton tatto on your loaf. That will be cool.

I keep getting texts from ambulance chasers about an accident I've never had - must be for you!

Seriously there are plenty of firms that sue on a no win no fee basis and it costs the NHS a packet every year.
