This is a tough one to call. With wholesale changes likely in the Charlton team and Preston likely to field a near full strength side this could go either way. If the '2nd' string play like they did against Reading then we could win. However, if they don't then we could go 2 down pretty quickly. Then it depends on how Chrissy changes it around and who he has on the bench. We could get a tonking or we could win and I really don't know what to predict.

On the other hand if Chrissy fields a near full strength Charlton team or a team with a nucleus of 1st team players then I think we'll win.

Either way, I'd like to see Sullivan, Green, Cort, Benson and Alonso get a start.

Very tough one to call....as others have said it depends how many changes are made...if wholesale like the game against Reading it will then very much depend on what strength side PNE put out...however having said that our 2nd 11 are not to shabby.........2-1 addicks......I'll be doing a match thread starting about 7:15.

Hayes to score against his old club
  • The likes of Cort, Pritchard and Euell will play here. I think it will be near enough the "second team" maybe with one or two regulars in there.

Who did we get in the next round (if we get through)? I'm sure it was a good tie, but I've forgotten lol.
  • soton away awaits the winner
  • Hamer, Francis, Cort, Mambo, Evina (if fit), Green, Hughes, Pritchard, Bover, Benson, Euell.

Subs: Sullivan, Doherty, Cousins, Warren, Alonso, Davisson, Popo

3-1 win after going 2-0 up they get one back and it bounces off Euell's derrier from a low cross which rolls to benno who taps in from 6 yards in the 87th.

Heart says we will squeek a 2-1 with Powells B team.

Head says PNE on pens. If indeed there are pens.

  • Can't see Hamer being risked especially with his broken thumb.

Blimey - at risk of sounding slow off the mark, but when did he break his thumb? Didn't know that.

In his first training session.   That's why he didn't play for about 5 weeks.

Hamer signed 1st August. He played his first game v Reading on 23rd August, 22 days later or in layman's terms 3 weeks and a day later. To say he didn't play for five weeks is very clearly wrong ;-)
I said the above not NorthStandDamo but can't edit it !
  • I stand corrected.  Just over three weeks.

Yeah, I knew about that injury. Just assumed he was over it now as he was back in the team.

Suspect Chrissy wil keep the same Carling Cup Philosphy so the result will largely depend on how seriously Preston take the game.
  • So does anybody know if I pay £10 at the turnstiles or have to queue up at the box office first ? The official site doesn't say as far as I can see. And will the Bartram entrance be open if I can pay at the turnstile ?

  • Sounds like Bover is playing as he has tweeted that his family are over to watch the game.
