To be fair they promised mcclaren a substantial transfer budget and failed to deliver. Can't see any big name managers taking over. Expect someone like peter reid, it will feel like promotion after his time in league 2.0

Has been a dead man walking for a while now so no big shock. Would love to see Curbs go there as they have some very good players and despite a poor start could still be challenging around the Play Offs.

None other than the man who picked Chris Powell's signings for him - plus a number of others that the Club have not had the foresight to buy yet - and is single-handedly responsible for us being top of the league. Forget Powell, forget Slater, this man is the real star of the show. I just hope we can hang onto him, sincerely I do.0

Don't want Curbs at any club who could soon be our rivals for promotion / fight against relegation. I'm happy for him to stay on TV and appear in our West Stand from time to time. Why is everyone on here so obsessed with getting him a job?

Sacking managers isn't always the answer. Chrissy may have gone at some clubs after his Charlton start. Where would we be now if that had happened.

But we might have been saying the same about Powell - no he rolled up his sleeves and showed us what he was made of. The difference was that we love Powell, if he was McLaren would he have got the chance to show us what he can do? Fans do have to look at themselves but probably never will.

That's true, but he refused to walk away from England, and was probably financially independent from the minute the FA sacked him. He's also, probably, make a fair bit from his jobs abroad. Pardew, who I hate, probably had less money than McClaren, and might have walked earlier if he did. And it is possible that he still thought he could turn things around.

Give that man no credit for anything and no benefit of the doubt ever would be my advice.Pardew, who I hate, probably had less money than McClaren, and might have walked earlier if he did. And it is possible that he still thought he could turn things around.
