    Great stats Stig!

I'm slightly concerned that we only finished 11th in 1927/28 though after that start. I think they only played 42 games then too although i could be wrong there.

The most fascinating bit about those stats is that, based on the 17-16 goal difference, the single loss in 1927 must have been by at least five goals.

    And, no ... I wasn't there.

Whilst I am not slitting my wrists over one loss I also can't understand why people are so joyful about our best ever start. It may be the best run of results, but its agains the worst opposition.

We don't want to be, shouldn't be, and can't beleive we stil are in this league. I'm not going to starting gloating about success in a shitty league. Maybe if it had been our first season in league one buts its our third and follows our worst ever lague finish.

Genius! I stopped reading after that.
  • No ones happy about being in league 1 but is important to put 1 defeat in context rather than over reacting , we've had 5 seasons of that.

    Rumbled!

Yes, I was at Mr Herringtons' Hat Emporium, looking for something to go with my new Eton jacket and spats.

    Wish I'd read this early.

Just spent 8 hours in casualty having my self-inflicted wounds stitched up and now I've been referred for a psychiatric assessment.

    I blame Stig

You're right.  Sadly Palace beat us 5-0 to end our unbeaten streak.

I'm not joyful about being in this division either, but I want us to win whatever division we are in and I'll celebrate every victory that I can.  Sure we were in the top division in 1936 and again in 2003, so its fair to say we had better teams then, but we are in this league now so all we can do is celebrate these victories.

Out of interest DRF, supposing we manage to go on another unbeaten run, this time to the end of the season.  Suppose we are promoted as champions and with a record number of points.  Will you be celbrating then, or will you follow your argument to its logical conclusion and not celebrate on the grounds that it's a "shitty league"?
