Sounds like the place to be.

    Someone liked Halifax so much, they named the capital of Nova Scotia  after it.

    Think the serial killer Christie also came from 'alifax, before he took up residence in Notting Hill at  10 Rillington Place...

    "From Hull hell and Halifax may the good lord deliver us".  

    Criminals were tried in Hull and transported to Halifax to the gullotine . There is a replica of it in Gibbet St just a little west of the town centre. 

    Anyone who tried to steal wool that was put out on tenterhooks on Beacon hill  to dry after being dyed  was hung by the neck at the side of the tenterhooks as an example to other would be thieves. ( you will see Beacon hill opposite where you sit in the away supporters end ) .

    On a more pleasant note....generally the town is welcoming to visitors of course so I hope you have a good day.

    If you likea pint and  a good real ale...try Dirty Dicks ale house at the top of New Rd which is only 5 minutes walk from the West stand (away end). You will find some of the more mature and nicer fans in there. They do some very nice food and snacks too as well as having approx 8 real ales.

    working up here this week actually quite a pleasant place had to drive over to bolton this morning across saddleworth moore makes a change from watling street down to crayford.

    I used to visit quite a lot for work. After 6 in the evening town centre has tumbleweed blowing down the road. The place is deserted…….
