Thought I'd seen the best game of the season last home outing! Shame I couldn't get to this one - mother-in-law's 80th birthday celebrations.

Great result. Stand outs were Hughes and Wiggins, we played at third gear for most of the match, buzzing.

What a win....have played better apparently..... but winning when not fully on your game....and winning by such a big margin shows just how far this new side has come. Morrow and Taylor sounded immense....and our midfiled worked hard....two lapses in concentration maybe...but hey I'd take a 3 goal winning margin everyweek. Well done to the squad, CP and the fans who went.....what a great weekend with other results going our way as well. Kermit seems to have brought another 'string to our bow' and his partnership with BWP will continue to gain momentum, he seemed involved in everything today...... even getting back and helping to defend...good solid team performance if maybe not playing at the top of their game.

Lets not forget that six weeks ago Preston were considered title contenders by the bookies. We've done enormous damage to them, Phil Brown under pressure. All good. Actually, couldn't be better,

Amazing result,be nice to win this league as well
  • All the chasing teams dropped points on with the exception of MK Dons. Never mind Huddersfield in 2nd place, we are seven points ahead of Sheff Weds in third place and have a GD of +18 on them. If we have a mid-season wobble then we have breathing space.

  • I'm gonna moan. The two goals conceded pissed me right off. We went to sleep in the comfort of our lead. Do that too often and the results will be different. Having said that. Well done but lets be on the ball for the full ninety minutes.

In a sense it's a good thing, we've had a wake up call that hasn't harmed us at all (apart from worsening our goal difference by 2). I'm sure Powell won't let the defence and Hamer forget it, and we should come back defensively stronger because of it.

See what your saying but perhaps this can be a blessing in disguise, next time we're winning by 2/3 goals Powell can refer back to the last minute goals from today and remind the players to keep their head.
  • Sounds weird but it probably did us good letting in those two goals at the end. It means the players won't be thinking it's to easy and they'll have to be on there game for 90 mins.

Having said that what a fantastic win.

  • 9 goals in two home games and 6 goals in two away games, wow. + 12 over last four games. how can anyone complain? Powell and the team and all at the club, if you are listening, 'Once again you have made my weekend, so, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!'

@JacquiOatleyChris Powell laid into his players after conceding 2 late goals (won 5-2). 4 wins in row, scoring 15 goals. 5 pts clear

Most impressive thing for me was the reaction to conceding hamer was fuming and apparently powell blasted them for it. Good win bring on brentford.

Third gear?  don't think we needed 2nd most of the game.   They were poor at the back and we won easily.

Good all round team performance, Green's best game, five goals, a centre half finally scored (had him at 33/1 for first and last  goal) and should have been more if there keeper had been sent off.

And Hudds, Notts and the 2 Sheffs dropped points,  Onwards and upwards.

PS for the flip are Stevanage 7th?  another scalp for them today.

Not at all happy conceding two goals. Never mind though. We are almost safe from the big R.
