True, but we're 15-2 in the games that Hughes has been filling in for
him so it's not all bad. (not saying that Hughes is repsonsible for the
results in the last few games but he's clearly playing his part). We've
got a good squad this year.
  • Did wonder why he was training with Evina without the rest of the team once they had all gone in before kick-off on Sat . Did some signing for my little bro tho :) he seemed cheery enough

Think it explains why Stephens' form dipped a bit.

find it odd that it was him doing sprints with Evina then
  • I often wondered why his involvment reduced in the second half sometimes, a nagging inury cold be the answer then

Given the recent 'he's unsettled' rumblings, lets go with a nice cynical conspiracy type post.

[begin]This is an imaginary operation. It's not actually happening!

He can go and stay up North for 6 weeks while the club sort out his January transfer to somewhere north of Watford.

He'll be 'back in training' in mid December, but won't be match fit for action until early January by which time he will be sold.
    [/finish]

    That should do it. ;o)

Shame for the lad, but if it needs doing, get in done now. Then we will see him back in the New Year fit and raring to get back in the first eleven to see us through hopefully a sucessful season.

Only 4 games before Xmas so good time to get it done. Plus it will give him some time with his newborn.

Hughes is doing well, Euell can play in the centre but it might be a chance for Alonso to show his worth...finally.

He had an ankle problem at Southampton, and had been recovering from it before pre season this year.

Looking forward to seeing Bradley P back in action - i've got a good feeling about that lad...he could turn out to be a real find.

I hope your cynicism is unwarranted, Paddy, I really hope that we don't lose the super Dale - he has all the makings of a Charlton legend.....

So do I mate. It was merely a dig at some of the bullshit that is spouted by fans - Stephens being unsettled is the latest 'rumour'.

I don't think he's going anywhere. He'll be playing in the Championship next season - with us.

He's doing a Dowie and gonna say he wants to move back oop north and will sign for palace in Jan.

Heard it off a cleaner at London Bridge who was told by a bloke who works at Burger King there and sold a "Whopper" to an in the know Ticket inspector at the weekend.

    FACT.

A year younger than me, and the same applies. Bloody hell...

SLP reporting he injured himself for Southampton against us. Semedo's challenge.
  • I had a dream last night that we're selling Dale Stephens to Real Sociedad. It was very vivid and I was still worrying about it during my training session this morning. In the dream I met Dale on a bus or train and was talking to him about the move to Spain - it was so convincing that when I woke up I was really worrying that it was the reality.

What's the latest with Dale then? Thought he was only a couple of weeks behind JJ last we heard?

February i think he's going to be back.
  • A hunch or something more solid there? I do hope this doesn't turn out to be another Gary Rowett type saga!

Agreed. I think we've missed him. A very good player.
