Incentives

This season the club have been active in giving us home game incentives encouraging non season ticket holders to home games, and also reducing ticket prices for season ticket holders friends (£10 ticket)

I think for a couple of the crucial away games in the run in against our rivals for the title (Sheff Wed and Huddersfield), Charlton should look at subsidising the ticket price to generate a larger following to cheer on our lads at these games.

Maybe the club could say anyone with two away match history gets a ticket for a tenner

Your thoughts please..................

I don't think you should need an incentive to go to those games.

But surely the "crucial" games are the ones the fans will be most motivated to go to so are the games which require least incentive ? Would make more sense to subsidise a rainy tuesday night up north somewhere ?

I don't but there will be a lot that will........

our average away following is just over the 1000 mark and the away end at sheff wed holds about 5000

After Orient (and Fulham) our next closest away game is the 5 hour + round trip to Bournemouth, so it's gonna be tough for fans to get to alot of games.

The lads have delivered on the pitch.

Get your hands in your pockets for ticket money and let's deliver the support they deserve.

haddock and chips, an ice cold glass bottle of orangina and a saveloy.

the promise of that will pack any away end out with charlton fans, guaranteed!

I dont think that concessions should apply to the upper west.

I'm not a snob and I dont deny my north stand roots, but I earn a decent bit of money now and I can afford to watch from the upper west away from the riff raff and would be quite happy to pay full price if it meant that the hoi poloi are kept away.

The club have done enough, it's easy to support Charlton home and away right now. You shouldn't need the incentives to follow a team top of the league on our current run.

How many do you reckon will take to Sheff Wed??

Not as many as we should. Probably around 1200 would be my guess.

Way more than 1200 surely. The majority of our fans hate the way Sheff Wed are and would love to see us get one over them at their place!.. Also, They will probably be in and around the top at that point so it will be a big game. Obviously depends on how many we get given.

In fairness, there is a recession going on. Not everyone can afford those awawy trips.

We can have 5,500 at Sheff Wed, which is twice as many as we will conceivably need (in League One).

I can't see a case for the club subsidising reduced priced away tickets. It's just giving money to a rival club. The only scenario would be if a deal was done with the hosts.

That's more of an end-of-season scenario than a big game against major rivals.

I guess free travel and things like that for away support is a great encouragement for supporters.
