  • I don't know , but this news is not a surprise , the only surprise is that it took so long.

Firstly - not at all surprised

As for the loan it's possible but we may have foreseen that and factored in a clause that he isn't recallable

we owe him - he cemented the 'wanna go home' tune which our new top of the league song is based on.

Not really surprised that he has been sacked. I suppose it depends on who the next manager or caretaker is and whether they want Russell back or not.

Preston are in pretty bad shape financially so they won't want Russel back on their wage bill

I wonder what it will take for Lee Clark to get the push? failing to get promoted / dropping out of the top 6?

I've heard Phil Brown's position became untannable.

I hate the bloke, but after him smiling and laughing in our faces in the cup game, I really really hate him, so Im pleased!

Before you know it they will be bottom of league two.
  • Damn, he was doing a good job of keeping them out of our way, I thought they would be a threat this season.

In all seriousness, good for them to see the back of him. I'm not a fan of his work, to put it mildly. PNE deserve better and good luck to them (just not too good, obviously).

Don't think this will affect Russells loan but might scupper any chance of making the move permanent in Jan (as I believe CP will look to do this). Still, money talks and phil brown walks.......................................
  • PNE will need the down and I have a feeling that Russell will want to join us.

feel a little bit sorry for him as he was probably in the type of position that parky was put in

get the impression that parky is a better guy

He was Parky's assistant at Hull remember.

Only 2/3 years ago he was managing in the Premiership. Changes so quickly.

The problem at Hull was he lost the dressing room. Maybe that explains his half-time team talk on the pitch?

Got too many man management question marks hanging over him IMO. Punch up up with Andy Todd when at Bolton, belittled his Hull team by treating them like school children at half time in the centre circle and isn't he the reason why Darrel Russel had to get away and join us because of a bust up?

neither the Hull team nor the fans ever forgave him for that .. Russel Slade did the same to thing to the Grimsby players at Lincoln when Grimsby were division leaders but went on to lose a play off final to the mighty Cheltenham Town .. in my opinion that was the start of the rapid down hill plunge by Grimsby Town .. I doubt that Brown will ever get the chance again to manage a league club .. he was a one season wonder
