Surely the Wendies would want us to have won today?

Who wants extra games, congestion fixture list and possibly more bookings and injuries - if the league is the prority. Remember what happened to Leeds a few seasons back....?

Glad the Blades got an extra game and MK Dons a replay

Am I the only one who thinks this? Maybe the Wendies fancy a run in the cup as don't think they will get promoted?

Got 2 important games coming up which will more than likely have a big (not 'MASSIVE'!) effect on the league table. But there is still a long way to go - win, lose or draw these games

  • The worst result today was a draw. It would have meant a tough game at The Valley sandwiched between the two Sheffield games. I would swap 4 points from the Sheffield games for a result of any sort today.

As long as confidence isn't affected (and it shouldn't be as that was as an unlucky 4-0 as you can get) the result is the best one for us. We don't have any more distractions now to the important task in hand.
  • I would certainly like Wednesday to draw today to give them an extra game or win and be distracted by a big tie such as the mighty MU at home. The odd red card wouldnt go amiss either!
  • Ditto tma & Muttley. I started the thread as a result of the comment by the Wendy who's been commenting on here and made a disparaging remark about our result - he probably didn't read the match report and see as Muttley said, it was as an unlucky 4-0 as you can get

Happy if Wendies look at the result and think we will be demoralised on and off the pitch, any complacency and they will regret it

  • I like your thinking!
  • They are thinking our bubble has popped and we will be easy next week. We might even lose but the bubble is still very unpopped.

Same difference really, they may have lost the reply which is just the same as losing the next round. Hopefully they get a Premiership team and feel obliged to put out a strong line up like we did.

Had Julian Bennett carried off on a stretcher, and have to play 11 mins extra time

    happy days
  • Home win or draw both good for us. More opportunity for injuries, distraction etc.
Like us, West Ham have one aim and won't be that bothered.

Still will be a boost for them just like when we beat Reading with our reserves, winning games is never a bad thing.

  • Now the 28th is taken up by a 4th round game for them they've got to go to MK Dons midweek.
  • Credit where credits due. Good result for Wednesday. A reminder of how hard it will be next week. Nothing wrong with that though.

Although them having a mid week trip to MK is no bad thing...

Also means that MK will have to play an extra game during the run in too, don't forget.

Indeed, 3 pts at Exeter would be even sweeter for us now

Wonder how many they'll take there ....

    Arsenal/Leeds vs Wednesday
    Man U vs Sheffield United
    Liverpool vs QPR/MK Dons

My perfect draw. Distractions all around.

Good result, but no doubt they'll fail to see the difference between a pretty much full strength premiership team and a weakened championship team.
