  • Interesting stat from Opta

1 – Sheffield United would be top of League One if only the second half of matches counted, with 49 points. Oranges.

Charlton to take the lead in the first half, Blades to equalise.
  • I am gobsmacked at all the negativity on this thread and that so many are awarding the 3 points to the Blades.
I always predict a Charlton win - just can't be pessimistic . Of course, I have often been wrong in the past but we are truly playing the best football I've witnessed for many a moon with a team of lads who are playing for each other & proud to wear the shirt. How can anyone bet against them ?

Keep the faith - you know it makes sense.

Wrong thread, Nick the Nap's the one above;-)
  • The old Charlton is long gone. We're not gonna blow this. A storming 3-1 win will see us start to pull away from the dregs. GOYH.

Last week before the Wendies game I had a very bad dream wherein we lost 3-0, and look what happened. Last night I dreamed that BWP was one on one with the keeper, rounded him, then slipped a bit and his shot went out for a throw in. Honestly.
On that basis, and remembering that dreams are the brain's dustbin, I expect BWP to score today, and, well, there is no reason not to believe we can win this. That said, it seems clear to me that United are a much better side than Wednesday, and listening to the Blades on here, a uniformly decent lot, their club is in better shape too. This is the game of the season, enjoy it without fear.

Everybody is right to be nervous and there is no room to be cocky BUT we have a very good side this year and have a record to prove it.

It will take a very good side to beat us at home and I think there is more chance of us slipping up against a lower profile team who get lucky than a big rival who will be up for it.

Bring on the cream of Yorkshire and lets see how good these northern boys really are ....

  • Apparently the Rose of Denmark is full already.......

Shame I can't make this one. Will be a great atmosphere down the valley.

I'm saying 1-1 a very tense tight game.

A nerve jangling, but in the end very satisfying 4-2 win. I reckon it will be 2-2 (BWP and Green) until last 20 when Haynes is introduced and then he'll get 1 and win a penalty last few minutes on the break which JJ will despatch. They've got terrific form, but so did Huddersfield before they visited us. Oh, and we're doing alright over the last 12 games too :). Can't wait!

So what happened with these red cards?
  • If we had a spluttery sort of match then the Blades had an even worse one.

Three points added to the pile, promotion a significant step closer and both Sheffield teams beaten in the same week.
