Given the season so far and with the will to win this Charlton side have, by which date do you think we will get promoted? I am going for the ninth of April.

Certainly by our final away at The Knobbers on Apr 28th.

Think the board should do the free buses for that game and get the whole of the Bill Shankly end which seats 6000 fans.
Preston is a decent night out as well.

  • Let's not get carried away. We still have our end of season slump to come.....
  • I predict we'll finish the season on 100 points. I think we'll have secured promotion on or after the Walsall game on 9th April after walking through the fixtures.

Having read your post to the end perth, i agree... and couldve saved myself 5 mins. :)

think some people are getting ahead of themselves. 1 game at a time lads
  • Lets keep our feet on the ground. We still have to get through our traditional late dip in form at the end of the season.
  • Good times at the Valley have returned and its maybe a time to start thinking positively. We've got a good team who are playing with passion and pride in the shirt, instilled no doubt by our fantastic manager. As long as the team dont get carried away, which im sure Chrissy wont allow - then it makes a nice change for us fans to look on the bright side.
  • Charlton never do things the easy way so personally i am both worried and confused!

It all depends on the side in the third place position really! ATM Sheff utd is there and is 7/10 points behind and that makes us unable to confirm promotion if this holds till 3 games left... That makes it the Wycombe game. In all seriousness I think that 90 would not be enough to be promoted this season due to the intenseness of the chasing pack...
  • 92pts 10 wins 2 draws and 8 losses will get us up i am sure.... But we wont lose 8 all season!!

If we do get promotion I'd love it to be Preston away. Get a good few thousand up there and a night on the tiles after
  • League tables change quickly - 1 point for a draw means that a month of 1 win 3 draws and 1 defeat is a bad month and far worse than 3 wins and 2 losses somehow feels. Let's worry about this later.

Next 6 games will tell us a lot as Huddersfield, MK Dons, Sheff Weds and Sheff Utd all start playing one another.

On the date when the points gap is big enough. We have not won anything yet, when and if we have then we will celebrate
like demons. One game at a time please, it's the CP way.

I can't go to the games on the 4th May (any chance this will be moved to the 5th?) and 28th April so will be mightily peeved to miss the celebrations, but I'd rather us clinch promotion with me not there than not clinch it at all.

IF we get promoted I hope it's at The Valley. After 5 horrible years we'd finally have something to fully celebrate at home.

Keep feet on the ground until it has actually happened. The stats are impressive, e.g 10 more points than Brighton had this time last season, but as fans let's all remain focused until the job is done.
  • We have 60 points in total so far with 60 more to play for. We can still finish rock bottom in theory, I personally will be counting off the points and places we cannot finish in before thinking about anything more.
Current bottom placed team can still finish on 77 points, in 3 or 4 games time we should (again in theory) have the number of points needed for it to be impossible to finish last. then a game or two after that no chance of being relegated.

I can't go to Oldham game on the 7th April.
So get your money on us to win the league and gain promotion against Oldham, when we finally hit 6. With the goal keeper getting a goal.

Although I am firmly in the 'one game at a time' camp, the above is seriously OTT.

Walsall at home, Monday 9th April. Could be two days before at Oldham but I doubt it.

Gotta be Carlisle away - I felt optimistic about the season as soon as I saw that fixture fell in mid April. Still a way to go yet, though...

Orient at home, Easter weekend would be a great shout for me and give me enough time to recover from all that over indulgence all round
