  • Hayes and Clarke were ok together but lack pace - Clarke dangerous from crosses into box - Hayes as usual looking to link up play with midfield

hayes was great in the first 11 games as a link up striker, had a hand in a lot of goals we got when we went unbeaten as his build up play with the midfield was very quick and effective, dont think hes been involved in a league defeat has he? or did he play v stevenage

I seem to remember Stevenage was Big Yann's first game.

That's exactly what happened. Moved Morrison out to the right and Cort came into the middle. Didn't work at all.
  • It seems that Kent Senior Cup games draw a large amount of goals when we play :D
It was a great chance for Dale Stephens to take part, and he looked good with some fine passing. Nearly had a goal just before he was taken off, too.
Also good for the likes of Paul Hayes and Leon Clarke, who both grabbed goals, and some much-needed game time.
Scott Wagstaff was full of energy as always and tormented their left-back throughout.

Margate, to their credit, battled hard and gave us a good game, plus the 929 crowd would have helped their financial coffers.

Tonbridge Angels or Dartford await in the semi-finals of the competition. And I believe it's been a great idea to join this season, as it just gives our youngsters and reserves some further match practice, or for a a few to make their comebacks from injury.

Ade Azeez deserved his goal as he was thwarted moments before his winner, while it was good experience for the likes of Jordan Cousins, Semi Ajayi, Bradley Jordan and Joe Pigott ahead of their FA Youth Cup game against Tottenham at The Valley on February 16th.

And finally, for those who kept up-to-date with the @CAFCOfficial Twitter feed on the game, it was a pleasure as always to keep you informed, plus some kind comments throughout. COYR!

    Cheers. (MR)

Hythe please if they get through.

Hythe v Charlton would actually be incredible from a personal perspective.

Dartford pse, you'd get a good crowd down at Princes Park.

Anyone know how many we brung last night?

There was probably a good 150 Charlton fans there last night - hard to tell really as they were spread around the ground.

Would have liked to have got to this one as Margate are my non-league club but pressures of work and all that.

Sounds a decent match to watch and, as said, a good pay day for Margate.

Margate were up for it and gave a decent account of themselves - both keepers were busy throughout the game with chances at both ends. Their goalscoring striker 'Kwesi' looked lively in the first half, but barely had a kick in the second half - think he should have accepted the Blackpool offer! It was a good run out for the fringe players and the youngsters.
  • Dartford would be good, one of our strongholds.
  • if we get to the final what ground will it be at?
