All of a sudden I'm quite pleased I'm on the 11.25. Will be sorted by then I would think.

    lol Soundas.
  • On the 8.25 out of St Pancras after leaving Maidstone at 7am.
Cudnt give a monkey about possible injurys etc. If its on, its on, if not it's an all dayer in Chesterfield - sod giving any other club extra £.

I kind of feel like that, but I'm a football fan so if I can't go and watch Charlton then I guess we're luck that we're in a location (Chesterfield) that's so close to many other football grounds so might as well take advantage. If you just sat in a pub in Chesterfield all day you'll spend a fortune as well.
  • Well so far, no games in the Yorkshire/Derbyshire area have been called off yet, so the area hasn't been as badly affected as further south, for once!

If it was playable at 1pm, then it will be on. It won't be any worse in the next 24hrs than its been the last few days.

It will be at it's worse in the morning after a very cold night tonight. The inspection is in the morning and the game will probably called off if the forecast is correct.
A 1pm inspection tomorrow may have the same result as today, but it's in the morning.

But tonight is predicted to be significantly colder than the last few nights?
  • Be positive, this is getting depressing.
Its a lovely sunny day here in Sheppey and tomorrows going to be just fine

I'd rather we play on a pitch that's a little bit hard than have to squeeze in two re-scheduled matches towards the end of the season. Teams like Hudds and the Wendies could gain 6 points on us without us even being involved and that's just going to ramp up the pressure. I reckon we've got more chance of getting injuries being forced to play a ridiculous number of games over a short period than 90 minutes on a chilly ground. Plus I'm really bored and want my football

    this.

  • stop moaning it would of been called of today if it was going to be called of IMHO they are effectively telling us to travel by saying its ok today. So come on lifers have some optimism in your bones.
  • The pitch is playable today which is why its still on but its gonna be arctic out there tonight and it will be called off first thing tomorrow morning.

Im on the 10.55 so hopefully will be able to wake up at 9.15, look on my phone and confirm its off and get some more kip without leaving my bed.

Defnitely going and fairly confident it will be on.

If we get there and it's called off late will probably look for another game - Henry's shout seems possible. Can't stand Bramall Lane though.

Burton's prices are cheaper and it's standing on 3 sides. Plus we can boo the Gills.

    Typical working class view.

If you want quality you should learn to pay for it.

Agree with you on that one. I am on the same train and would not be able to go to the midweek fixture. Glad they are giving it a go. I reckon they will play it as they must think the pitch is playable today so as long as the conditions do not deterioate we have a game. Other than this i'm off to Bramall Lane for the Sheff Utd v Wycombe game
  • The pitch was deemed playable today by a Premier League official so naturally it was called 'on' for now. It can hardly be called off on the basis it may not be tomorrow. I'm sure Chris Powell will be in favour of this approach. As it stands I expect the game to take place. It's hovering around freezing at the moment.
