  • Agreed Nicholas. I remember thinking we had found some sort of world class genius after Pringle scored that one where he rang from the halfway line against Wimbledon. We hadn't.

    Derby away i think mate.

Did all the Scandanavian players stick together when he was at the club or was there a rivalry?

Question is, which one of the Charlton Live team is most likely to cop one to the solarplexes as he enters the studio?
None of us, he is on the phone.....

No Derby away was a different one. He did one at home to wimbledon too on a Monday night when we announced the signing of John Barnes.

The Derby away one was quality - I remember Mark Mansfield on Millenium Radio when he get in behind shouting all of a sudden "PRINGLE'S IN ON GOAL" and then immediately calming himself down "but he's got a long way to go though..." and then erupting again "AND HE'S SCORED!!!!"

Used to sit near the front of the West Stand and I recall Pringle always looked good warming up (well, that's what the wife used to say!).

Back to Svensson, always like the guy - Don't remember him starting many games - I was always hoping Curbs would put him on the pitch, mainly to see which opposition player he nutted first.

Me too, am I imagining it or did a cry of 'screw loose' go up in the covered when he went steaming in or came on as sub?

Met the team in a hotel in Boden, Sweden, on the tour of 2001(?). He was the only player who had any time for the fans who had made the trip out there, so he'll always be a hero in my book.

Regarding his winner against us at Carrow Road, bear in mind this gave Norwich a lifeline similar to the Danny Mills winner at Villa so cut him some slack on that one.

I once made him a cup of coffee and he didn't head butt me or punch me in the kidneys :-)
Mind you it was Gold Blend ;-)

Not sure if it's the sort of thing you'd want to mention to Mr. Svensson but co-incidently I had a meeting with someone today who took on his house after he left Charlton. It was a nice place apparently but shortly after moving in he was surprised to receive an unpaid gas bill for around six thousand pounds. Maybe no-one had ever paid for gas at the place, or maybe the move north from Croydon to the wilds of Kent meant the tough Swede had to keep the heating on the whole time.

Panic over, he's been in contact and will be on live tonight, along with "Superfan" Sam Kimber and the Chartlon Perfect 10'ish.

Promises to be a bit Lionel, not Blair - Messi!
