I see Joey Barton has escaped punishment for a bad foul on Pedro Mendes a week or so ago, (Barton escapes punishment), funny how this is the second time Mendes has been on the recieving end of crunch tackles.

I wonder what it is about him that winds up otherwise, ahem, level headed, peaceful players. maybe the bloke is a #### & has got what he deserves?!!!

    I know I'm probably in a minority of one here, but I thought the Barton/Mendes thing just looked like an accident. However, I accept that certain commentators who have played the game say it was deliberate - so maybe they are right.

    He didn't mean it. His eyes were on the ball, ask any Sunday league player and those challenges are a regular occurance. I've had a few and never had to be stretchered off.

    The 'Thatch Smash' was a bit different though!!!
