    He moved on.

Yep - rather like Dr Who does! Disappears one minute but back the next in a different guise.

  • I got a random lol on this thread the other day which made me read it again.

    Does make me chuckle.

A lol from back in the day when lol's didn't exist! I was looking at how pathetic my numbers were dear leader.
  • Crazy to think that Ade ended up leading UKIP.

Just as well. The alternative would be disastrous.
  • Heard him on Desert Island Discs recently. Very homest and moving.

Ade was on Graham Norton on Saturday night and recounted a story about an audience member who didn't like his jokes so punched Ade in the face. He said Jennifer Saunders kindly dived in to defend him and started swinging at the audience member.

I got a strange sense of deja vu hearing this story but couldn't place it.

Ade came across as a thoroughly nice bloke and as he recounted this sad tale, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. Why do bad things happen to good people?
I did think as I was watching, I’m sure I’ve heard this before 😂😂😂
I wonder if @mas@masicat will buy his autobiography 😛

It was quite poignant when Ade said he would miss his wife and daughters but at least he wouldn't be attacked and feel safe other than coconuts falling on his head 😱

Masicat sounds like a bad man back in 1992. Violence is never the answer and I will fight anyone who thinks it is 🤔

wow !  I watched it Friday night - didn't realise the assailant was a Lifer and actually posted about it years back !!  The thread has gone full circle !!!!!
  • Noooo!!

I watched bits and pieces of the show but missed that bit.

I even thought to myself 'I wonder if Masicat is watching !!!!'

Heard that and thought 'I wonder...'but I couldn't remember if there was any mention of Jennifer Saunders stepping in to give Masicat a hiding back - first page, there is!

Yep fraid so, "but Masicat is never wrong" ... as the saying goes.

Ffs, should have been "always right" !!!! Doh !
  • I have always liked his humour and had the pleasure of seeing Bottom Live, an Arse Oddity. The chemisty between Ade, Rick and the indeed the audience was fantastic that night. Never understood why said Lifer mentioned such an incident of which he should be ashamed of. Of course we can all change.
One of my best ever decisions was to extend a weekend my wife and I had booked in Brighton by a night and get tickets for the last Bottom tour in 2003. Funniest show I’ve seen live, I was crying with laughter. Even my wife who wasn’t a massive fan of the show, loved it.
  • Awful suit he was wearing though.
  • @masicat is always right.

Can’t believe this was 30 years and being discussed on Saturday night telly. Brilliant

I saw this on Saturday night, and I learnt one thing - do not upset Jennifer Saunders.
  • I have no idea what the reference is about and have no recognition of posting it. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  • Saw both arse oddity and weapons grade y fronts at Hammersmith Apollo
