Quiet surprising really!

Had my photo taken with him and had a quick chat. I think he is looking out for our results and he said we are going through a sticky patch at the moment but said he will be surprised if we don't go up.

He said who we got next so I said Yeovil and he responded "That will be an interesting one"

Came across a very decent bloke and when I told him I am a Charlton fan, I could see a little smile. What a legend :-)

I thought it was well known for it - or at least used to be.

My Aunt used to live there and told me that.

I don't know where you got that assumption. I lived near that area all my life and have not come across any villains.

In much the same way Chislehurst used to be full of them, but they can't really afford it now.

If you'e looking for villains, you should try the West Kingsdown area.

Like Penguin and The Joker? What about Bones and Texas Pete from Superted, do they live in any Kentish suburbs?

Made me laugh. Can we count nasty-ish characters from Mr Ben too.

Where do i start. As a young 17 year old back in 1982,from yts to working every day on the pitch. As a charlton fan this was a dream job .Behind the scenes that man did nothing ,Could not even get a good mornin out of him.He fancied himself a bit of a ladies man.Bill gallagher and Charlie hall could have managed that side.Very lucky old school teacher ,Still good memories ,Killer shooting the pigeons out the west stand .the Kimble twins Big Ronnie Moore,Watching Alan simmo do extra shooting practice after all the players had left training at Sparrows. But lennie ,Ignorant Tool......

Eh? He's a c*** because he never said good morning to you?

I must've imagined him signing the players that took us up and then more that kept us there for all those years then.

Don't really care if he was arrogant or "fancied himself" - the man's a Charlton legend.

I find it hard to believe, because based on the way he was last night, he came across a decent guy. Had a quick chat with him and could easily tell he was pleased when the word 'Charlton' came out of my mouth.

  • Oh c'mon. Don't be too quick to judge. I'm 100% sure that Fergie wouldn't treat the YTS's like that pig Lennie apparently did. He probably gets them in for the team talk, press conferences and transfer negotiations just to make sure not to hurt their feelings.

I've seen him a few times in the Red Lion at Bromley North. Seemed like a nice enough bloke to me - was happy to talk about his time with us.

That's funny because he speaks very highly of you.
He said you weren't a bitter twat at all.
Which was nice of him, I think.
Seems he is a good judge of character.
In fact he thanked you for all your insights 'behind the scenes', typical of any 17 year old.

A friend of the family used to teach and have a beer with him in the old Crown & Anchor at Bromley North. Nice bloke by all accounts.

Also in my eyes a Charlton legend. Fair play if he got some lady action.

Met Lennie with Jimmy Hill in a London casino the night of the famous Palace penalty game, can't remember the year. Was it the game we announced we were leaving the valley? Anyway, superb couple of blokes who were happy to sit and talk about all things Charlton. Met Lennie a few times since. Great bloke.
By the way, plenty of villains in KNockholt.

Lennie is a nice fella.....nothing more to add really.
Has a lot of old friends who frequent The Red Lion in Bromley North, where he can often be found.
