I hope that this has been a great filip for Richard, following his stroke, without whom this could not have happened. He could so easily allowed us to fall into administration.

the man's extraordinary. Helped us get us back to the valley, got us up to our golden years in the prem and kept us alive at our lowest point. Charlton legend

    Well said Kap
  • Well said indeed.

A loud chorus of 'There's only one Richard Murray' next Saturday would be brilliant :)
  • Well put Kap, my brain can't put the right words together at the moment , directors past and present should enjoy this moment, especially Richard as he has had so much rubbish thrown at him in life.

There's many club owners who would happily sell out to the first buyer flashing money in front of them, but Murray was insistent that the new owners would be right for the club. Thanke mate!

    Get well soon Richard.

Your name may not be the first sung from the terraces, but many many fans know how much you've put into this club.

I had no idea about his poor health. Excellent post to highlight both that, and the tremendous amount he put into CAFC. Get well Richard, thank-you again, and enjoy this every bit you can. It mau be just the beginning again...

I am in total agreement .. without Mr Murray we would not be where we are this fine spring morning
  • The picture of Richard behind Kins lifting the Playoff trophy at Wembley is the mark of the man. Yes a true Charlton legend.

Just got this reply from RM:

"Thanks, I am on the mend, and will be at the Valley for the next two matches, Chris has done a great job and is a great person. I do appreciate everyone's kind words and thoughts and am happy if you pass that on"

Very pleased to hear he is on the mend and will be at The Valley. He held this place together when many would have let it fall apart. Heard some stories yesterday of some of the deals we did through the bad times - rumoured that we are still getting money for Diawara and due considerably more from the Shelvey deal if he keeps performing. Things like that must have been vital in helping to keep us afloat and in ensuring we had something positive to offer in the takeover - RM deserves so much credit. Enjoy the end of this wonderful season, Richard!

Who was that knob who used to post on 606 blaming RM for everything?............love to see his face now, after-all it was RM that made sure the right buyers for the club were found and he kept putting his hand in his own pocket to keep us going!! So whoever you were and wherever you are, is it time to say sorry I was wrong? or is that below you?

Top top man and as said above, a chorus of "There's only one Richard Murray" against Wycombe is a must.
