Shirt framing

  • You can get special frames on e-bay which will save you a lot of money.
Some of those frames are not very good to be honest.

If you have something that is worth preserving then pay that little bit extra and get a professional to do it.
  • I used a company called sports-frame cost was about £160 but they did an amazing job  http://www.sportsframe.co.uk/
  • Have a few shirts to frame and I wondered if anyone has had it done by a local company that doesn’t pin/staple or glue the shirt? Ideally I want the process to be reversible hence no damage to the shirts. A company called discount football shirt framing offer this but I don't fancy sending them to Blackpool and paying cheque/bank transfer!

Also have read about UV glass for signatures but if not exposed to sunlight is it necessary?
  • I had one done in the arcade Eltham a couple of years ago. £80. I also did one myself, it took time and patience but looked ok.

You can get D.I.Y. framing kits on ebay for about £35. You don't need UV glass.
  • Yeah have thought about DIY but don't want them looking cheap.
  • If you take time and get the shirt mounting right it will look good.
  • Just had a look, they all seem to be sleeveless. Got a couple that I might try them on but for the others I'd like the sleeve badges showing so looks like I'll have to go professional for that.

I've used Finally Framed in Sidcup recently for a few bits and they've been really good. I didn't actually get any shirts framed but they had a couple on display (one Charlton one) that looked pretty decent.

Thanks, examples on the website look pretty good. Couple of Charlton there, maybe they are fans.

Looks nice, would you mind measuring from the top of the shirt to the bottom please? The shirt I won at the last auction on here has signatures very low down so wondering if it'll all fit.
  • Had another one done recently by rcd prints in Eltham, did a nice job again.

Could you post a photo please? How much do they charge?
  • Mine from Eltham
  • Thanks @Baldybonce would be looking to get some sleeves done like that depending on signature placement.
  • I always use RCD prints in Eltham. Great service. They have moved from the shop to an upstairs studio opposite the old shop. Have had 3 cycling jerseys done.
