Thirteen man squad, five seamersto choose from so it looks like all bases are being covered on the fast bowling front and good to see Jonny Bairstow included, presumably he'll play as a specialist batsman.

AJ Strauss (captain), JM Anderson, JM Bairstow, IR Bell, TT Bresnan, SCJ Broad, AN Cook, ST Finn, G Onions, KP Pietersen, MJ Prior, GP Swann, IJL Trott.

Would have had Meaker in the squad instead of Onions.

Bopara injured, but well done to Bairstow... not too many surprises though Bell and Strauss need to step up. I think we'll win this series with ease... though that kind of complacency leads to trouble! Our attack will be too good for the Windies batsmen

Happy with the team, Onions, Bresso and Finn for the third seamers spot, very very strong competition.

With the recent weather, I hope they bring plenty of DVDs and books for the rain breaks

Nothing, in any other era he'd be regular Test player and maybe will in a couple of years.

The crab holding us up AGAIN .
He's only doing what Dravid did last year, wickets are tumbling at the other end though.

Swann dropped an absolute sitter from Chanderpaul before the Crab got set. Anderson swung it away and the snick went straight to Swann who let it bounce off his chest at slip. Since then the Crab has dug in and now looks on course for a ton rather than the Windies all out for sub 200.

243/9 at stumps, Broad has six, one more wicket for his best ever innings haul.

Quite pleased with that. I don't want us to roll them over in 3 days, as I'm going on Sunday. Mind you forecast for Sunday isn't great, so I might have to drink some beer when/if it rains :-)

Dont forget that at Lords you can take your own booze in - apparently the only cricket ground on the planet where that happens- you dont wanna drink the piss-water they sell you (exhorbitantly)
Yeah, a whole 2 pints. Maybe have one at lunch and one at tea.

It was Bravo who was dropped, who later got run out instead!

NB I knew we'd lose a wicket as soon as I posted, so I hadn't been posting all day. Doh !
