I can't think of any better way to start a Monday than an air raid siren at 3:30 in the morning. Didn't stop for pretty much two and a half hours. By the end I'd almost grown fond of the noise. After a while there was no point in going back to sleep.
It appears that it to warn people of a massive factory fire on Tunnel Avenue in East Greenwich involving swimming pool chemicals. I live on Azof Street so just a couple of streets away. Scary stuff.
Anyone else get woken up by it?
Sounds like most of South East/East London could hear it so there's probably going to be some tired looking people at work today...even more than usual on a Monday.
